The Dragonfly - Newport

The restaurant needs significant improvements. The roast dinners were warm, not hot, the roast potatoes were appalling, and the food lacked proper presentation. Meals were served in a strange order, with main courses coming before starters. One starter was offered an alternative sauce, but it arrived with no sauce at all. The customer service was poor, with two main meals never arriving despite others who arrived after us receiving their meals. When we finally asked for a refund for the missing meals, it took a long time for someone to figure out how to process it, and there was no apology or friendliness, just a cold attitude.

Josie, our server at this restaurant, was absolutely delightful during our great lunch. The food was fantastic and there was plenty of it - three sumptuous courses in all. It was a truly enjoyable experience. Thank you, Mike and Dee.

We had a pleasant experience at the restaurant with Alex as our friendly and efficient waitress.

Both asked for chips with meal but arrived with mash or saute potatoes. We were not going to complain until we found the potatoes were not cooked. These changed quickly for chips. Service was excellent. Happy female staff (Alex??? with knowledge of availability. Did not rush us. Very enjoyable experience.

Alex server today was very attentive and knowledgeable about menu choices. Good was delicious.
