Contribuiți la feedbackCame here on a Sunday night around an hr before closing. Pretty quiet plaza, but not hard to find. The restaurant itself was pretty quiet which was nice. Ordered a small pizza (6 slices) and each topping was 1$ extra. Ordered it with mushroom and sausage. Pizza's crust was very thick if ur into that and wasnt too dry. First time trying arancini and the texture was pretty cool, crispy on the outside and stuffed cheese and rice inside.
Welcome back to Newmarket you were certainly missed. Once a staple on Davis Drive, the owners of Zucca's moved on to bigger and better adventures. However, watch out Newmarket as the brothers are back. It doesn't matter your cravings Zucca's has a meal option for you from football sized panzerotti, tasty veal on the bun, pizza, and much much more. Check out there menu that I have posted in the pictures. Today's choice my go to veal on a bun. A fresh Italian bun, tender and juicy veal, loaded with grilled peppers and the right bit of heat with their hot peppers. I confess, my serving of peppers was a bit skimpy today. However, when it comes to veal on the bun they are top shelf. The biggest challenge what to order next time?
I like this place but I was really hoping to love it. Adorably homey and family oriented, generous portions and very good prices are the highlights but the flavours and textures were lacking for us. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately, the restaurant was just under half full when we arrived on a Friday night. It's not a fancy place- think East Side Mario's-very family friendly and cozy. Our waitress was really nice and efficient, no complaints there. We saw some food on the tables around us and the portions are definitely large, even shareable. The panzerotti is actually the size of a football. We ordered the penne a la vodka, a small pepperoni pizza and a chicken parm sandwich with all the fixings, we wanted to try a few different things. We got our garlic bread and it was great, then we got our pizza and it kind of fell short of our expectations. It was piping hot and full of cheese and pepperoni but the crust had a frozen pizza texture and taste. I didn't have that nice crunch you expect from a fresh pizza out of the oven. The sandwich came next and, although I didn't try it myself, my partner wasn't super thrilled about it, he said the meat was soggy. Lastly we got the penne and it was not like any penne a la vodka I've ever seen. The sauce was a kind of brownish, there were lots of speckles of herbs and seasonings but it really lacked flavour. I'd say it was closer to a rosé sauce but still it was unlike any Italian pasta I've ever had. I'm not claiming to be an expert at Italian food but I was just sorely disappointed by the lack of flavour all around. I kind of want to give this place another try, maybe go for the famous panzerotti and a more basic pasta with tomato or meat sauce. For the prices, portions sizes, atmosphere and service, I'm definitely willing to give it another try and even recommend to any Newmarket friends with kids.
We came here on a Saturday night. Heard great things about this place so we decided to check it out. We got a table for 2 with no problem however it got packed right after! The chicken wings and baked escargot was amazing! I got the seafood fettuccini and it was okay, very big portion however it would've been better if my mussels was actually in a shell! For the prices, it is very reasonable. The panzo was good, full of cheese but hugeeee. You get your money's worth here that's for sure!
After reading some of the reviews I decided to try this spot. Got there 30 minutes before closing on a Saturday night with my daughter. The ravioli was awesome. Just the right amount of sauce. Soft. Full of flavour. The chicken parm sandwich was spot on. Fresh bread. Flavourful veggies. Perfect tomato sauce. Clean place. And awesome service. And what you pay for it, worth every penny.
