The accompanying fries were good. They were heartily fried. Tower o rings was good, with crispy breaded rings (not battered) that stayed crispy for really long. That said, it was rather pricey for what was ultimately just onion rings. I suppose when you have it there, since it's presumably actually served as a tower it looks more impressive. W sauce is a creamy sauce. Beechhouse was creamy with some texture (I like that it was labelled so one could distinguish it from the W sauce). Sweet n Tangy was good slighty spicy.
I 've been to The Works a number of times over the years, but it 's been a good year since I 've been, and I decided it was about time for a burger. The great thing about The Works is that they 've got countless combinations of toppings, and so no matter what mood you 're in, you 'll find something that you just have to have. This visit though, things didn 't exactly start off great. When you come in the door there 's a please wait to be seated sign. So we waited. After a few minutes we finally got the attention of a server, who just called out across the room and told us to just sit wherever we wanted. This in and of itself wouldn 't have been too bad, but we chose a seat, and then just sat there. We waited about 10 minutes before we were acknowledged, or even given a menu. That said, once we got our menus, the gentleman who took care of us did a really great job. As for the food: we decided on a beef burger and a chicken burger with fries and spicy chips for sides so we could share. They were kind enough to cut both burgers in half for us. Portions and presentation were quite good. The spicy chips were delicious. The fries were good too, although far too many tiny bits for me. The taste of the chicken burger was great, but the chicken was a bit over cooked. The burger was the real disappointment. It was cooked well, but I 'd ordered one with mushrooms on it, and they were just plain terrible. It appeared like they were canned mushrooms, and they tasted like they 'd been sitting out too long. I 'd expected that since this is a gourmet burger place, the mushrooms would be far better. I ended up taking them, along with most of the cheese they were melted in, off the burger so I could eat it. With the massive amount of burger places around these days, it 'll probably be quite a while before I try The Works out again.
Very good burger. The meat is Very juicy. I ordered the one with mushroom, cheddar, caramelized onion. Delicious! Just a little bit unsalty.
Stopped for a burger with my son and a friend. We sat on the patio. The patio is a COVID addition, it's not fancy, but I'm not comfort sitting indoors, so it was perfect. I ordered the Tragically Maple burger, my son the Bacon You Fancy Huh, and the friend ordered the Magic Mushroom Melt. Everything was delivered quickly and was perfectly cooked. The meat was cooked to perfection and not cooked to death. My Tragically maple burger was sticky with maple syrup, and worth the sticky fingers. The fries are fresh and not from frozen. Golden brown. Staff was friendly and didn't leave you waiting. The works is a great local place to grab a tasty burger with friends and family. I'll be back.
Every time I go here the food is delicious and the staff is super friendly. Would definitely recommend this spot for a great burger and fries!
