Homaru - Newington

I had a pleasant experience at this Japanese restaurant, with affordable prices. We ordered a sushi to share followed by two bento boxes, all for $57. The food was decent, but I recommend avoiding the seats next to the door as it did not close properly and was quite bothersome throughout the meal. I would return to this restaurant, but only if I could sit further inside next time.

Delicious teriyaki chicken and the chicken entree pictured was delicious. Great meal with great company, served with excellent Japanese hospitality.

Everything was pleasant, good attentive service, wise variety of choices on the menu. My wife enjoyed her meal as did I until I tasted the prawns. Not fresh, not going to swallow that thank you. Almost four star but beware the prawns. All other seafood tasted fresh and good.

Homaru always has friendly attentive service. The food is quick and fresh. I usually eat there once a week and have their deluxe bento box. You get ice with your diet coke which is a nice little touch.

We were here for lunch. Food servers were helpful and nice, taking our orders before we were seated, so we would not have to wait long When we were finally seated, our orders were ready. Good bento box and tempura. Not that expensive too!
