Napoli Centrale - Newcastle

My daughter recommended Napoli Centrale as she and a friend had a great pizza on Saturday night, so I convinced my husband to go there for an early dinner on Sunday. Firstly I googled the restaurant for the phone number and the hours of operation for Sunday, which stated they were open from 11am - 10pm. Phoned three times only to receive a message machine. So we decided to go in thinking that they were open as the website stated 11-10 on Sunday. Arrived at about 4.10pm to be told they open at 5pm. Decided to wait as we were told the pizzas were great. Big, big mistake.Our pizza was so soggy that it fell apart lifting it from the serving plate to our plates. It had large lumps of cheese and the bottom of the pizza had black burnt bits stuck to it even though it was soggy. It was evident from our plates that we hardly ate any of the pizza and there were still three slices on the serving plate. We were asked if we wanted the left over pizza boxed to take away, it was then that I complained about the quality of our meal.I ask the question, "how can a restaurant be so inconsistent with the quality of their food from one day to the next?"The manager decided to not charge us for two small bottles of coke.....can you believe it. If they consider that good customer service then they should seriously think again because I believe our complaint was seriously warranted as the waiter did ask us how our meal was and I gave him an honest answer.Will not be returning and will definitely not be recommending.

We were allocated a table out side. It was really cold on the metal seats. Some out door gas heaters would have been appreciated. Also the pasta and gnocci were very mean portions for $22 . The bread served before dinner had to be torn apart by all with the bocconcine and pale tomatoes falling off. The pizzas were OK.I wouldnt go back .

I came here one night for a takeaway pizza whilst staying at a hotel nearby and the pizza was so incredible i couldn't believe it, I ordered a Margherita pizza and the tomato sauce was so delicious and tasted so fresh like the tomatoes in Europe so sweet and the cheese was really good too, everything was so fresh. And i loved how its wood fired the crust was so nice and crispy.It was very fast as well for a Saturday night i ordered the pizza and it was only a 5 minute wait. I will definitely be back again next time I'm in the area.If your a pizza lover i wouldn't look no further.

I've eaten pizza in Rome and the pizza here is better. Awesome wood fired authentic pizza, gorgeous tasting base, with simple toppings just like in Italy. Friendly service, clean surroundings. We received a complimentary glass of Moscato for mother's day which was delightfully unexpected. The Moscato was beautiful. Staff very friendly. I can't imagine you'd get better pizza anywhere in Newcastle. Can't wait to go back.
