However, it took a while to be served at the bar, likely because it was busy. It was a bit strange to be the only ones eating at 7:30, but we understood since Tiger Tiger is primarily a nightclub. Despite the loud atmosphere, we appreciated being seated in a private dining room that could accommodate a larger group, even though there were only three of us.
Despite some initial confusion with our booking time and the 50% discount deal, we ended up having a fantastic meal at this restaurant. We enjoyed a large steak and chips, and took advantage of the two for one deal on cocktails/mocktails. The only downside is that you have to pass through a lively nightclub to reach the restaurant, but it was definitely worth it.
I was really looking forward to a special night out, but I have to say I was very disappointed. When I arrived at the restaurant, I was given two flyers offering a buy one, get one free drink deal from 1925. It was a struggle to find the restaurant in the dark, but once I did, I was greeted by a hostess and shown to my table. The restaurant was packed with a big Christmas party, which seemed to slow down the service. It took 25 minutes for our drinks to arrive, and the menu was much smaller than what was advertised online, which was a letdown. However, we did receive a gift bag with a Christmas card, candy, and more drink vouchers, which partially made up for the slow service. I tried to redeem one of the drink vouchers, only to be told that the promotion had ended at 1900, even though my dinner reservation was at 1930. The staff member then informed me that the restaurant had the right to change or remove promotions at any time. Overall, my mother-daughter trip to Newcastle was ruined by the disappointing experience, and I do not plan on returning. Plus, the restrooms were not well-maintained.
In the Tiger Tiger at 6 30 for dinner in the restaurant to find the restaurant empty (alarm bells immediately ringed as this was a Friday night) server came to inform us numerous articles on the menu not available, Sea Bass, heavy sauces etc. My wife ordered bovines and I had fish and chips. The fish was from the frozen variety, but edible as for the Fajitas of my wife, they were sent back, the beef was almost burned. She then ordered chicken fajitas that were somewhat better you had pancakes and ice cream for dessert that were incredibly bad, definitely not fresh. It was like something from Gordon Ramsey's kitchen night rooms. We've probably had worse food.
Youth orientated building with glitzy bar and restaurant behind. Fairly noisy but food OK and reasonable value.
