We had trouble deciding on our order and the waiter became impatient. There were no drink options listed, so I quickly requested a Fentimans drink that I spotted on the wall. We chose a table that was the only one without a sign indicating it was closed at 2.30, assuming the other tables were reserved for a private party. However, at 2.30, a staff member cleared our plates and informed us we had until 2.45 due to a party reservation. Feeling rushed, we left along with the other diners. The atmosphere and service were unpleasant, giving us the impression we were unwelcome. Despite the tasty food, the overall experience was disappointing. Perhaps in the future, the restaurant should consider closing for private events or clearly communicate any schedule changes to customers. Additionally, we felt overcharged at £30 for our meal.
As we began our journey from Newcastle to Edinburgh, I encountered some issues with my bike panniers. Fortunately, the mechanic at the bike shop was able to fix the problem for me. We were able to relax and enjoy a wonderful meal at the Cafe, knowing that the rest of our trip would be smooth sailing. Newcastle is fortunate to have such a welcoming destination for cyclists to visit.
An absolutely outstanding service from the cycle hub team at our recent fundraising event. The team were just brilliant, warm,, welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue and we will be back. We didn't have food from the menu but everyone enjoyed the cakes. Thank you so much!
Located right on the quayside. Excellent place to have a nice cup of your choice, a good selection of pastries, and a nice view of the River Tyne. Large parking lot right next to it.
Amazing coffee and a delicious bacon and mayo sandwich. This restaurant is conveniently located on the C2C route.
