This restaurant offers great value and is highly addictive. A must-try for those new to Thai cuisine! The Phad Thai here is the perfect comfort food. You can find this stall at the quayside Sunday market and other events in the Northeast.
I was given the information that this little company made excellent Thai cuisine from a friend of mine. Last Sunday I decided to take a trip down to Newcastle's Quayside to search out the Tasty Thai Deli stall. We crossed over the Millennium Bridge and headed up towards Newcastle's Tyne Bridge through the Quayside stalls. We found Sal and Dave nearer to the Tyne Bridge on the right hand side. We said hello and bought some pies. Oh they are to die for. So tasty, light pastry and the flavours just burst through. I've never had a Chilli pie before, but I can't see big business replicating this in the way Sal does it's her passion for what she does which shines through. Sal was telling me that Tasty Thai are planning for some surprises to the Newcastle foodie scene. I can't wait! Excellent.
Tasty Thai Deli brings a taste of Thailand to Newcastle. Operating as a market stall on the quayside in Newcastle upon Tyne every Sunday, Tasty Thai Deli has gained a reputation for its fresh and authentic Thai food. The chef cooks right in front of you, using fresh vegetables from the stall to create dishes like the delicious vegetable pad thai I enjoyed this morning. One highlight is the Thai Curry Pie, a fusion of Thai and British flavors, available in chicken, vegetable, and pork and chilli fillings. These pies are a convenient way to enjoy Thai cuisine on the go. I often buy some for my coworkers. Another favorite of mine is the green papaya salad, although it can be quite spicy so watch out for the chillies. Plus, the stunning view of the Tyne River adds to the dining experience at Tasty Thai Deli.
