Luigikhan's - Newcastle upon Tyne

Excellent meal. We were visiting family from London this weekend and the food was amazing and great service too!! Delicious authentic Punjabi food, compliments to the chef. Highly recommended.

We dinned last week at Luigikhan's and we received an excellent service by SOJATHA. She had good smile on her face and looked after us well. We love food and staff is nice. I recommend this restaurant to others.

I emailed Luigikhans this complaint directly but received no acknowledgment. I have ordered from here previously and enjoyed a few visits to the restaurant on special occasions with my friends and family. My in laws have recently moved near to us so I recommended Luigikhan 's as a takeaway option when we went to see them in late Sep I ordered food at around 6.45pm via the Uber Eats app for around £65. The estimated arrival time was between 7.20 and 7.50pm. The food had not arrived by 8.30pm I rang the restaurant at 8.50pm and was informed that the driver was on their way with the order to my mother in law 's address By 9.40pm the order still hadn 't arrived. I then called again and was informed that the order had been completed and delivered around 8.20pm I advised them that this couldn 't possibly be the case. We had been in the entire evening, and my in laws have both a doorbell and a letterbox with knocker and live on one of the main roads in Gateshead. The person I spoke to then continued to argue with me and insist it had been delivered and suggested that maybe someone else answered the door (not possible as no one else lives there. It is a semi detached house, not a flat or a multi person building). They also suggested I had put the address in wrong I had not. They then said they would send the driver around. I gave them my name and phone number. When I hung up the phone I noticed the order on the app had changed to complete. I then rang again at 10.20pm as nothing had happened and asked for an update. I was informed that the order had been delivered, the driver had taken a photo of the delivery and as far as they were concerned Luigi Khan 's had completed their part of the order and my issue was with Uber Eats. I asked if I could be sent the photo and was told no. The person was very aggressive and rude on the phone and continually talked over me, insisting that the order had been delivered. What started out as a nice evening with me recommending a curry place we had frequented and enjoyed, ended with me being spoken down to and dismissed. Not to mention we did not get any food and of course I am now £65 out of pocket. The level of customer service was dreadful and the continually changing story (the food was on its way, then the food 'had been delivered ages ago ' and then the driver was going to come round and then apparently the matter was closed) was frustrating and disappointing. Now what had been one of our 'go to ' places for curry has been completely ruined. I still have not received the money back form UberEats and have now had try and issue a chargeback through my credit card supplier, causing further stress and work. I would avoid ordering a takeaway form Luigikhan unless you want to end up with no food and be called a liar on the phone.

I visited with my family at the start of September with my family. The restaurant is clean. We ordered the tarka daal, korma (which is British style), and nihari curries, all of them were wonderful! The nihari daal is exactly like how I’ve eaten at home, and korma, which we were notified would be of the sweetened form, was very nice with that in mind. The tandoori roti tasted and smelled as if it were cooked truly in the tandoor. I don’t quite remember what our starters were, but they were really nice as well! I would say the price is worth it, at least for the sit in dining experience and I’d love to go again.

We had a vegetable balti with naan and it was very tasty. My husband had a karahi chicken which was a little bland and as it was not breast fillet I did not enjoy it. The chapatti was soft as was the naan . The staff were all friendly and helpful. The food arrived quickly. The ambience and decor are perfect. Reasonably priced.
