Hawthorns Crowne Plaza Newcastle

Although food was good they are very disorganised with very slow service for drinks. I tried to ring them prior to our booking to confirm something I left 2 messages and no one returned my call. We were told cocktails were included in our afternoon tea, then told they were not. We could have had 4 x afternoon tea for £0 which the bill showed. I did question it it was corrected. Good leadership required.

The food was nice but not as warm as it should have been so we had to bring it to the attention of the manager who was very apologetic and was very professional, she deducted desserts off the bill and shouted us a round of drinks. I think the issue is it’s a bit out the way so it lacks some atmosphere. I would make a return visit, however it’s not the best I’ve ever had but it’s definitely not the worst.

Very disappointing visit, we waited over 15 mins for our drinks to arrive and another 15 mins for the starter. The second drinks order was wrong. We did not have time for the main course as we had an event to attend. We were in the Hawthorns for over an hour an were only served a starter. However the maitre d’ was attentive and apologetic and offered recompense. The starter was very good but we will not be returning or recommending

Celebrated our anniversary at Hawthorns. Ambience very nice and relaxed as were the staff, who were very friendly and chatty. Food was very good, although I wasn't fussy about some combinations of flavours or textures on my main course. We were delighted when our waiter presented us with a plate with Happy Anniversary written on it accompanied by some very tasty sweet treats and two unexpected celebratory glasses of prosecco. After the meal we were invited to either but take coffee in the lounge seats or stay at our table. All in all a very pleasant evening and glad we had our any anniversary meal there.

Great customer service, amazing meals for the price and great place just to switch off after a hard days work. As was staying in the Crown Plaza which it is set in. Thank you!!
