Cafe Arazu - Newburgh

4-1/2 Food is absolutely amazing! We ordered the 'Cuban Cigar ' appetizer, wraps, and two cups of the cheddar cheese soup of the day to go. We were informed the appetizer was no longer available, so had our soup there. Overheard our server telling another table the soup of the day was tomato. Wondering if they only make a few of certain dishes per day, maybe? In any case, we enjoyed our meal. The tables are small and very close to other tables.

Food and atmosphere is good, however if you have plans you will for sure have a long wait to be seated and receive your order so plan accordingly. Called for reservations and left a message as their reservation policy said, received the call back 4 days later. So maybe plan 5 days in advance? Tried to go there and waited 35 min to be seated and there were multiple tables available and multiple people waiting. Overheard servers talking about a table waiting over an hour for their order and still not received it. Decided to leave at 40 min mark of waiting. Just seems unorganized getting guests served and in and out. Have eaten there in the past and food was great however it’s a little unorganized.

Me and my partner (whom is here visiting on vacation from the military), came to enjoy lunch at Arazu. We sat on the balcony.. they have fans to help flies stay away from food. The waitress gave the 4 tables around us a fan and for 20 minutes acted as if we were invisible. We weren’t offered waters, a menu, nothing. I’m not sure if this is because we were two gay women or why we were treated so differently but needless to say we got up and took our business down the road.

Love this place! Delicious food and excellent service!

Pros: food was fine Con: we waited nearly an hour and a half for our food. Our waitress mentioned a printer problem, however the table next to us (4 top) ordered at the same time as us and they had gotten their appetizer, and food AND had eaten their whole meal and left before we had even been told about the printer problem. Then made a joke about how we will eventually get our food, and we could have their scraps. Asked manager for discount on food, and they said “well it took the right amount of time because it’s a scratch kitchen.” And offered us a free desert. I’m not normally one to make reviews however I feel this was just unfair. Otherwise like I mentioned the food was fine
