United Club - Newark

This review is for the club near gate C74. There are two clubs in located in the C wing. The club here is newer compared to the club located by C123. Everything here is pretty standard of United Clubs with self served hot foods and bar service.

Ok, so I think that the new United Club needs to start a different Yelp because clearly these old reviews aren't reflective of how awesome the new and improved! This being my first experience in a United Club lounge.... wow... is all I can say. I enjoyed my time here so much that I wish that my flight had been delayed lol. Bright, beautiful, huge, airy... awesome views... clean... huge bar with a ton of options (had a really nice mimosa and their sangria)... tons of food items.. restaurant style seasonal meal... Some of the best chocolate chip cookies I've tasted... and of course, the gummy bears. Friendly and attentive staff. Can't wait to return!

I specifically went to the club next to the gate 74 as I got an email from United touting completion of the renovation project, so I wanted to check it out. I understand that this is not an easy issue to solve, but my major problem was lack of sitting space. I had to circle and circle around until I spotted a little space at the table by the window. Food was okay, nothing really to write home about. It was impossible to get to the bar to order a drink so I had to just settle for water. I think if United would eliminate bar and instead have some wine and beer available for self pour, they would save money and would be able to increase the seating space this is how it is typically done in Europe. Well, just a thought.

This was my first visit to this Club since its major renovation. Its central location in Terminal C is ideal for departing, arriving or connecting flights. The new interior is modern with a subdued color palette. There are booths, tables and counters for seating. The bar stretches across the back of the Club providing a great tarmac view. I stopped here for breakfast after an arrival flight and late afternoon before an evening departure. The hot and cold breakfast buffet was very good, but the late afternoon buffet was just so so. Drinks from the bar were excellent, as were the coffees. Club staff were very nice and helpful, from front-end attendants to table staff. There are outlets (both power and USB) throughout the Club.

This place is great! Free food. Comfy sofas, chairs, nooks. There's a full bar over there, and everyone is nice n quiet! Free beverages, too?? What? I'm loving this place! There are no servers proper, but everyone is being clean, and there are people restocking the buffet and coming around to get the plates. Get membership! Better yet, DON'T, and there's more room for me! Okay, the food is pretty good, I have to admit. I had a chicken in cream sauce with capers and a white rice with an additional grain, as well as a tso tofu. Salad fresh, cheese gouda, brownies fudgy, wine free. Check, check, check, check. If you are a lemon bar fanatic like me, it was so-so, at least edible without the hyper-aquatic aftertaste. Did I mention that there are restrooms in the lounge as well? No need to battle the other passengers or cleaning crew for a private stall! Ahhhh.... the life!
