Picnic Portuguese Bbq - Newark

The restaurant has great portions (for 2 or 3 people), great taste, good prices.The restaurant is not fancy, but is clean and organized.I recommend it!

The food is always good, I don't always get the right dessert tho.

This is my first time ordering from here, but I was excited to try given the high reviews. I ordered delivery and things came on time and it was accurate. We had whole platters of chicken, ribs, and salmon, each with yellow rice and sides. I personally liked the ribs best (found bones in the salmon and would've preferred the chicken with some crisp/char, seemed a little underdone), but in general the food was just alright. Nothing to wow about. The meats were fine but the sides were not good quality. They all kind of tasted old (we got yucca, plantain, beans, and veggies). Especially the fried stuff, tasted like it was sitting out a long time or cooked in old oil. I have a lot of other Brazilian BBQ places near me, which I think is similar or better tasting, so for me it's not worth it to travel to Newark to get this. But overall I think the price is fair and we fed 9 people with the 3 (whole) trays we got.

Absolutely delicious! Perfectly cooked, not overly seasoned, hot and fresh. I had the pork steak, and I can't wait to come back and try something else. The house made hot sauce is the best I've ever tasted. Highly recommended.
