Waitrose Cafe - Newark and Sherwood

The food and service at this restaurant were excellent, and really turned my initially stressful day of traveling into a much more enjoyable experience. Special thanks to Inez for her great service!

I have visited other Waitrose cafes and they were fantastic, but this one was the complete opposite. It was truly terrible. I attempted to order something from the children's menu for my 3-year-old daughter, only to be told multiple times that they were out of ingredients and couldn't make it. My partner ordered the sweet soup, only to discover a hair in it when he started eating. The soup options were not written down anywhere, so he was verbally told it was a different type of soup. He is not a vegetarian. My club sandwich was cold and the worst I've ever had. To top it off, there were no forks available and we had to wait for someone to wash them after we finished eating. The cafe staff was unprofessional and seemed clueless about their jobs. Overall, a terrible experience.

I went to Waitrose with my girlfriend and her mother to help her do some shopping. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience at the fast checkout. I had to repeatedly stop and check our shopping, even though we had only bought six items. When we asked about this, the cashier made a sarcastic remark about it being a family day, which was not helpful as my partner's mother has anxiety about Covid. We also asked if our bags could be checked, but were ignored. After 11 items were rescanned, we had to go through a full scan of 68 items. At this point, we all felt like criminals and asked if we could just check out normally. However, this was not possible and the same cashier had to find everything again, while others stared at us. Eventually, we were taken to the manager and offered a free sandwich at the restaurant. I found the whole experience embarrassing and was disappointed by the rudeness of some of the staff. We spend £150 a week at Waitrose, but this experience has put us off from returning. My mother-in-law was upset by the incident and we will not be coming back.

We had a great breakfast today and teekanne. quick shop for flowers and gifts chocolate.) friendly, clean toilets and a great stop.

I still have to come to this branch, but intend to see how my local waitrose in wollaton has just closed most people's ecle, as well as knock down the whole building to build a lidl. newark or mountsorrel are the next!!! when you look at the...views, it seems that the caffes are much the same,unfriendly coworkers that constantly smile or talk! I complained about the management and said they were aware of it and it was checked. nothing happened! what is the problem? Why as a super market wasn't he sorted?
