Contribuiți la feedbackWe had a decent dinner the night before and were looking forward to the croque monsieur, which sounded good on the menu. However, what arrived was not as described, rather than sour dough it was literally white sandwich bread and resembled more a pre-bought microwave toasted sandwich than the classic French snack.
My wife and I visited for tea the other evening, the food was great, however the service was really exceptional. Our waiter, Nour, was very attentive, and helped my wife find an alternative meal that she could have because of her allergies, along with the chef, Joe. We then visited for breakfast today, and Nour was there again, he had remembered all my wife's allergies and had even let the kitchen know again just in case!
Faniced a sit down for a coffee and cake but could not find any soave in the Starbucks onsite so quickly booked a place in Cafe Rouge in the Village Square as pretty empty at 12.30pm on a Tuesday. Couldn't get just coffee and a cake so had lunch. Not a huge choice really and bit pricy for lunch. All covid help in place and it was a nice pause for a while.
Had the onion soup and camambert for starter, both quite nice.Had the beef burger which sounded fancy and delicious. In reality was very basic and tasteless, worth about £7-£8 definitely not £15. My partner had the chicken which was tender and quite tasty but nothing extraordinary. Drinks choice terrible. No lagers on tap, never mind anything of quality. bottled beer extortionate. Looked to have a cocktail instead but they'd run out of 90% of them. Had to have a soft drink instead. Overall overpriced. Unlikely to return.
Unfortunately this restaurant has deteriorated year on year. Before going any further please allow me to pay testament to the colleagues and front line workers. The value for money is incredibly disappointing. 2 thin slices of garlic bread ordered from the kids menu cost £2.50.Lacked quality and flavour. See photo.I truly appreciate that this dish is part of the kids menu and therefore bought separate it will proportionately more expensive . The cost of raw material no more than 5pence for the amount as seen and no more than 45p for the total overhead contribution. Therefore a huge mark up and the quality was poor. In comparison to their peer group on camp I would advise that they take a look at the whole package. Truly understand the trading dynamics have changed but if you continue to profiteer to such an extent then your business will fail at pace. The Uk is facing a huge recessional trading period and therefore you must offer quality and value regardless of being in the unique position of tapping into a captive audience . Do the right things !
