Victor's Café - New York

The food is good but not great. The drinks are the same and small for the price. We got the Havana Spice and La Jefe for drinks. La Jefe was enjoyable. For appetizers we had the Bartolito (bad and microwaved) and the Special of the day which was apparently a giant tomato with watery avocado dressing (it's like your child making breakfast for you). For the main course we had the PARGO EN CAMISA DE PLÁTANO (fish with plantain crust) and PONLE ROPA A LA VACA (Duo: Skirt Braised steak) . The fish was decent but the steaks were both dry and salty. The portion was also small. The atmosphere: Just ok. The bathrooms are located downstairs and this woman was just lingering there on her cellphone-it was creepy and I didn't realized she worked there. The main dining room has way too many seats for comfort. The day was slow and we had 3-4 waitstaff constantly come over. It's hard to complain or praise that because when attention is not given you feel it. The main area had a nice view of the bar and glass that separated outside. Overall, I probably would not return. The first experience was good enough and there was nothing that would compel me to return. If you have not tried it and do decide to go please try the fish.

Great dine in experience. Not a five star because it is fairly loud inside. The food tastes great. The appetizers are a bit overcooked BUT! The Cubano is on point! The pork entree is very good as well! Would recommend IF you are a huge fan of cubanos and pork! The seasonal mojito is fantastic!

The food was excellent! The staff was extremely helpful and caring. The only issue we had was my friend who has dietary restrictions. They got the order wrong, but they immediately fixed it and compt our drinks. Highly recommend!

Amazing and Authentic Cuban food! The atmosphere is classy and the service was top notch. I highly reccomend the Ropa Veja.

I had a lovely experience. The ambience was amazing. The food was great and most of all the service was fantastic.
