Tsismis is the place to go! Small and cute spot on Orchard Street, TSISMIS has a lot to offer. We got a bunch of appetizers and meals. I recommend ordering a bunch of different items and sharing, because Filipino food is meant to be passed around. I enjoyed the Isaw, though I was reluctant since it wasn't chicken. But it was still delicious. The Baked Mussels were the winner. It was so flavorful. The Lumpia and Sweet Potato fries were okay. The Bangus Sisig didn't hit the spot as the others I've had, but still a great choice. The Beef Salpicao was the best thing on that menu. I never had Salpicao back home, but I would come back to Orchard Street for that. The Crispy Pata was so good too. Couldn't go wrong with the Kare Kare. The Lechon Kawali was alright. Must get the Kalamansi Margarita and Ube Coquito. If you like Mezcal, get the margarita with it, and a some chilis. Amazing. Great experience. Definitely coming back!
I've only tried the cheesy mussels!! But the space is super cute and I can't wait to actually stop in and dine when I get the chance. Everyone that works here is just super friendly and nice
Was visiting Galerie Perrotin on Orchard Street, NYC and decided to try Tsismis, a Filipino restaurant only 5 minutes walking distance from the gallery. The head Chef of TsismisNYC recommended short ribs Kare Kare beef stew, complemented with thick savory peanut sauce, shrimp paste, eggplant and topped with Yu Choy vegetable. Thoroughly enjoyed the dish.Friendly staff and service was on point. Will definitely go back! ?
The food has failed any of my expectations. There was no sincere apology for the poor quality of the food made. One of the plate was stench, Over cooked and under seasoned. Another appetizer is over seasoned- so salty. The rest of the food is average. The flavoring palette were all wrong. This might be why, they will be only become a late night Japanese tapas bar only soon. Just the typical whitefolk LES alcoholic bar hop spot. Only the drink were good. Service was only alright.
