Great food with great service. Visiting my uncle, a native New Yorker, he loves this place!
If they are looking for a quiet area in the west village, this is not the place to go. the music was unnecessarily loud. there was no cursed from him (at least) and seemed to play for using the personal instead of the customers. we were only 2 for dinner and even that was a fight to hear and hear. the personal is friendly but badly trained. they seemed involuntary and/or unable to respond to any request that would have required a withdrawal from policy. (e.g., turn off music) the menu is divided between bites, tellers and netzen, without clarifying it on portion size or recommended quantities. for bites we ordered devastated eggs that were delicious and well seasoned and foie gras that was quite dirty. for a plate we ordered a beat (sic) salat to share. at the order our waitress confirmed that we wanted to serve bite and dish dishes before our main course. after a fairly long wait after the bite, our main course (quite tasty brick huh) showed itself. our request to the waitress to announce the “Beat” salad was rejected on the basis that the cook had already made it. Fortunately we accepted the salat as a side, but it was the worst dish of the evening, tasteless and swim in a ranch style dressing. we have dissert skipped and were surprised that on our bill we see an additional $5.94 marked for “CC processing Fee”. when my friend asked what this was up for, she was told “that is the CC processing fee.”! asking for more it was justified by the house, “some of the most NYC restaurants are now loaded to cover the cost of the bank commission on credit card sales.” we received the opportunity to pay cash and avoid the fee. neither my friend nor I (we are regularly nyc diners) have ever seen such a charge that ended the last cure and certainly leave a bad taste. Today I spoke to the manager of the restaurant who was willing to repay the fee and the costs of the “Beat” salad. everything in everything, not disturbing.
Hamachi crispy rice is fabulous as well as the lamb and avocado croquettes.
