Lisa's Dumplings - New York

This is far and away one of my favorite places to eat in the city, and one of the best food stands in Turnstyle. My parents used to make dumplings from scratch when I was growing up, and Lisa's really hits the spot for me when I miss a childhood favorite. They have so many options, and they all come to you fresh, hot, and delicious. Service is friendly and they work fast! Definitely worth a try, especially if you're seeking an authentic dumpling experience and one that is quite affordable as well!

Very flavorful and fresh! Considering you're basically eating in the subway, I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the chicken dumplings were.

Excellent location and very good dumplings. Very fresh and friendly. Easily the best food in the turnstile underground market and on weekends is fast and has places to sit (it’s really just to go when it’s crowded on weekdays). Also sells bags of frozen dumplings that are quite convenient.

I ordered a sampler, which includes 4 dumplings. It was a takeout order. I only opened the box once I got into the subway. There were ONLY 3 DUMPLINGS in the box!!! I understand shorting someone 1 dumpling when there are 40 pieces; it's easy to miscount. But there are 4. How do you miss 1 and not notice? Of course I couldn't go back because I was on the train by then.For handpulled dough, it was a little thick and chewy by not bad. The filling was obviously fresh, but not very flavorful. And the dumpling sauce had only one flavor: salt. There was no tartness, sourness, zestiness, or any other flavor you would typically expect from a dumpling sauce. What you find on a shelf of Asian stores is way better than this.I will not be coming back.

We heard about the Turnstyle Underground Market from locals, while visiting. Might be the best kept secret of NYC! And, Lisa's... the best dumplings ever! We had vegan steamed dumplings loaded with a cabbage blend, they were perfect! Love that you can watch the process! Friendly staff. Will definitely plan to visit again! Lisa's Dumplings was the highlight of our experience in the Turnstyle Underground Market.Vegetarian options: Lisa's offers a vegan dumpling to die for!
