I had the Romanian meatball soup. It was very good and came out nice and hot the way I like my soups. Meatball (2) delicious and vegetables cut in large pieces. My entree was the lamb shish kebab and very good. The lamb was cut into large pieces on the skewer. It came with rice pilaf and lettuce with 2 large slices of tomato that tasted like they came from the garden. It's a cute little place (tables for 34 people). For those needing alcohol, the restaurant is supposed to get a liquor license next month.
My friend and I had an early lunch on Wednesday so the kitchen was just getting going. I had borscht and Romanian Sausages, served with potatoes and my friend had Greek salad and pierogies. Both were large portions, nicely served, with great accompaniments. It took a little longer than usual to be served but I believe that was because they were just opening. Server was very good, packaged leftovers to go, and attentive.
Excellent food, nice service. The lamb chops and the “mititei” are to die for. So are the deserts. It is an authentic Romanian restaurant with other European touches. We will return many times from now on.
We all loved the meatball soup and tripe soup. I had pork tenedrloin which was done to perfection. My husband did not like the sarmale, staffed cabbage. We had crepes for desert. We will go back.
