Sazon Boricua - New Windsor

I visited a friend in Upstate NY and was made to this place because the reviews are great. In my opinion, eating this restaurant is not the best. At first it is not Puerto Rican cooking, the spicy taste like another country. Second, they mixed salad dressing with the mofongo meals that is not Puerto Rican style. Thirdly, prices are higher for foods that you can get cheaper in other Spanish real Puerto Rican restaurants. We order the Mofongo with the Chicharron de pollo and it tasted Blande. The Plantains were mixed with nothing else inside and the chicken was chicken breast not Chicharron, the chicken legs cut into pieces. I also added rice with beans inside and it was also gland. Very disappointed. They must do better for the prices they charge. Never again!

Best Puerto Rican food in town, hands down! I recommend everything in the menu. I love the classic pernil and arroz con gandules. My husband and son love the Justin Special aka The David and the Tripleta aka The Goliath . My daughter is vegetarian and Justin hangs her with vegetarian cook chicken, with rice and avocado. The desserts of My Sista break amazing! My favorites are Evans Budín and the banana pudding, but tres leche and flan will melt in your mouth.

I had steak beef with sweet plantains and the way they seasoned it with garlic was on point! Peaceful atmosphere, excellent (and faster) service; in summer you can sit outside and also deliver. Perfect place to fill your mouth with all the perfect flavors! Make yourself a favor and go here.
