I regularly get circulated with 2 or 1 buffet vouchers from the Starlight Casino. Over the past while the food has become consisting worse to the point that neither the roast beef nor the baked ham is edible because it's so seriously overcooked. The presentation also leaves a lot to be desired because the meat is simply hacked from the roast rather than being carved. The soups are nice as is the fruit salad.
The buffet is so disappointing! We have enjoyed many great meals at the casinos in the US, even though we don’t enjoy their smoky casinos. But last night, my husband’s birthday we went to the buffet which is $20 a person which is quite reasonable. If this casino wanted to – they could make this a great eatery. But we won’t be back, while eating I wondered if this is what food will taste like when I am in a retirement home.Cons:Not a long line to get in, just a long time to ring through each dinerLayout of where cutlery, plates etc. are is vey oddly placedYou have to know what beer or wine you want when you pay to start, with no option of seconds laterSmall cramped eating area No clean tables (no one cleaning up either)Beef so cooked it’s like shoe leather and nothing other than well done available, the carver could only talk to another staff member about when he was going on his breakFish bites hard and chewyMinestrone soup flat no flavor, the egg and corn soup – none leftPros: Nice chairsNice fried riceNice salads (just everything other than the greens are placed so far away you can’t reach them)Nice deserts
The Buffet at Starlight brings a new dimension to your dining experience and especially if you are on a budget. For one set price, our buffet allows you the flexibility to sample as many dishes as you like, as many times as your desire. More importantly, take advantage of their 2 for 1 specials when they are mailed to your door. The best is their Roast Beef and International Food (Greek, Mexican and Italian) specials offered weekly on Monday, Wednesday and Friday . However, make sure you come early on weekends or there is no place to sit. Finish it off with their desserts and fresh ice cream.
Again we were enticed by a voucher offered by the Starlight Casino. The Mediterranean buffet at $20 was terrible. The roast beef was over cooked, dry as the Sahara desert and totally devoid of flavour. Other menu items were very limited, however the Thai soup was nice. I should have known better because The Buffet was never known to serve decent food. The only upside was that I took home about $125 from the tables (it paid for my gas).
