Contribuiți la feedbackAs other reviewers have pointed out this is a catered rental room for large groups. We recently attended a wedding reception here . They were still putting the finishing touches on a few things as we arrived . One problem was with all the construction in the Quay complex parking was very limited . We pulled in to the lot about ten minutes before the beginning of the event and there was no parking attendant yet . Eventually everything was settled . The food was excellent . If this was a restaurant we would be regulars for the lasagna alone ! It may have been the best I have ever tasted . The garlic shrimp were average , but the rest of the menu was fabulous , including the rib eye steak . I was very impressed with our server . She was working very hard and always had a smile . The washrooms were a bit grungy and at one point both paper towel dispensers were empty and there was a room sitting on the wet counter . Other than that it was terrific. Also , there is a great view of the Fraser River.
This room is for booking for special events. Lovely room with a panoramic view looking over the Fraser River. Would be a great location for a Wedding, Retirement Party, or any other large person party. Food was delicious and the staff very discreet in serving and clean up. The crystal chandeliers were gorgeous and kept catching my eye as the sunset over the River.
La Perla Ballroom is an event venue, not a restaurant. It is a great place for corporate events. Central location close to sky train. They have hig speed Wi Fi too.
Unfortunately my work booked this place for our Christmas party. The food was horrendous with the low point being hit when I sent back stone cold, overcooked halibut and had them literally microwave it and send it back to me. DISGUSTING and EXPENSIVE. Do not use.
NEVER book your wedding at La Perla Ballroom or using Orlando's Catering. I recently had my wedding there on July 4, 2015. It was an awful experience for the following reasons: PRE WEDDING 1. It takes weeks to actually get an email response from anyone during the planning process. 2. During the final head count a few weeks before the wedding they tried to increase the price on the final invoice for everyone's meal by $1 thinking i would be too flustered and not notice; they did the exact same thing for my cousin who used Orlando's catering on June 20, 2015 for her wedding. 3. As per Silvio's instruction my decorator dropped of all of the table clothes on the Wednesday before my wedding so when we showed up Friday to decorate the tables would all be set. My decorator arrived on Friday and NONE of the tables were set as well they didnt even have the right amount of tables out or chairs at any of the tables. My decorator sat there doing nothing for an hour until i arrived. My bridesmaids and myself had to move all the tables into the correct format that i had sent him weeks prior as well as dolly all the chairs to the tables so my decorator could put chair covers and sashes on them. 4. We asked Silvio if he could please turn off the coloured lights that shined on the dance floor and he said sorry it cant be done so my decorator climbed up on a ladder and just unplugged them. DAY OF WEDDING 1. guest arrived and non of the candles were lit (I had given them a full timeline saying lite candles at 4:00pm) My dad and my Mother in Law had to run around lighting all of the candles 2. We had a welcome drink of Sangria for all of the guests as they walked in. This was not put out in time. My dad again had to go grab it and they locked guests out until they had it ready. 3. We paid extra for 2 bartenders and 2 bars; a beer and wine bar and a hard bar. We were only provided with 1 bar the second bar was not even set up. Even though he promised me it would be set up and even showed me the location of it. 4. The bartenders told our guests we werent serving beer even though we had 4 kegs of it. Guests had to go into a back hallway and serve the beer to themselves once i found out where it was. 5. In our contract with La perla we paid for free parking as well as a parking attendant. There was NO parking attendant and TONS of our guests got parking tickets even with leaving the wedding invitation on the dashboard that stated free parking 6. In our contact with La perla we paid for coat check. There was no coat check 7. They served all of my guests with allergies the wrong meals even after getting an allergy list of the 4 people and what tables they were at (yes i did have placecards at the tables with the peoples names) Then proceeded to come up to me at the head table during a speech and tell me they had done this and what i wanted them to do about it. 8. The servers were ridiculously loud and kept coming up and talking to me at the head table during speeches. 9. they force you to use their DJ and say he is absolutely amazing. HE IS TERRIBLE (Canadian DJ). He played our wrong first dance song; then took him 5 min to find the correct one. THANK GOD I HAD AN AMAZING MC WHO SAVED THE DAY. My husband and his best man also made a wedding slideshow that the DJ was supposed to play. My husband strictly told him he had to save the file onto his computer and then play it because when you play it directly off the USB stick it can skip. The whole slideshow skipped and the DJ just let it play not even attempting to fix the issue. 10. Part of the selling feature of the venue was that they had a camera and the people doing speeches would be displayed on the TV's so everyone could see. The DJ couldn't figure out how to make the camera work at all the whole night. 11. we were told we had until Sunday at noon to take everything out of the venue and then at 1:00am he told us we had to everything out now including all leftover booze, gifts and all decor.
