Tintern Abbey Tea Room - New ross

Visited today after a walk with our dog, but was met with a rather terse person telling us that we are not allowed to sit at a table as we have to register first and be shown to a table, which would have been fine, if there had been a large enough notice advising us of this fact, not to be informed by someone, who obviously, didn’t want to be there today. Once seated we noticed the blackboard advising us of this, which would have been extremely difficult to see until you were seated. She also advised us that we couldn’t possibly sit at a dirty table, which unfortunately, when she did clear the table , it just got a token wipe over, which did not include the whole of the table. Once we ordered our creamed tea with Earl Grey teas, only to be presented with a dirty cup and a pot of really strong builders tea, which did not resemble Earl Grey in any way. I would say that we have visited this tea rooms on many occasions in the past as we live quite local, and whilst I appreciate the need for certain protocols during this time, I felt they were just going through the motions and forgetting about customer service. Sorry, Abbey Mill Tea Rooms, but we shan’t be visiting you again!

After a walk around the place, it is reassuring to head towards the tea room. Smartly turned out, with fine coffee and tea and some truly delicious cakes. This was a class act I would recommend a visit to the abbey to ensure you visit the tea room. Service was okay but in truth the whole experience was wonderful. Go visit by hook or by crook.,

Delicious and well thought out menu. Items change daily and seasonally. Great place to unwind and chat with friends. Don’t pass up the traditional scones, they are scrumptious.

We visited Tintern abbey and we had a great walk around the buildings and the walled gardens. We decided to get something to eat in the tea rooms. The food was lovely and reasonably priced and very tasty. It was very relaxing outside in the Cloisters and enjoying our coffee after our feed.

This is a nice little tea room which is beside the wonderful Tintern Abbey,They serve a good range of food and beverages,there is also a nice area to sit outside in the courtyard on a warm day and to relax.
