Mike's Beer - New Plymouth

As tourists from the UK exploring the country, we happened upon Mike’s Bistro by chance. My husband was in the mood for pizza, while I was craving a burger, so this place turned out to be perfect for us. The beer was fantastic, the food was delicious, and the staff were cheerful and welcoming! We really appreciated that Mike himself made the effort to visit each table, greeting everyone and ensuring we were all well taken care of. It’s rare to see that kind of personal touch these days!

The staff were attentive, friendly, and very good with our daughter. The food was outstanding; we were so full after our appetizers and main courses that we couldn't even fit in dessert, but we definitely plan to come back for that another time. We all left feeling satisfied, happy, and relaxed—which is quite a feat when dining with a toddler! We chose some of the higher-priced items on the menu as it was a special occasion, but you can definitely enjoy a meal there for less. I highly recommend Mike's Bistro. We started with calamari, Mike’s fried chicken, and prawns, followed by seafood chowder, beef burgers, chicken burgers, and drinks. Everything was delightful. The beer-battered chips were absolutely delicious! We had a wonderful evening filled with great food. Unfortunately, we missed the live band, but we will definitely return.

The best local Taranaki craft beer is brewed /served here!!! Love the food and amazing vibes. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

What a fantastic restaurant, had my husband's 60th birthday here the service was amazing and food delicious Ron made sure we were well taken care of. Friendly waitress showing all our guests how to you the tablets. Good on you guys will definitely be back.
