Everyone knows the real party happens off of Bourbon Street. And usually Frenchman street is where it is at! Slid into Three Muses on a Friday evening and what grabbed my attention was the close, intimate atmosphere. While a lot of places were actively jumpin, lines at the door, music cranked up to a 10, this spot was different. Live music, performed by a neo-soul, neo-jazz artist Mia Borders behind close doors, sultry lighting, and chill vibe. Also an amazing food and drinkmenu. Is the best bourbon found off Bourbon Street too? Who knows? This place has landed on my radar as a potential favorite.. keeping an eye on it for any return trips!
This was my second time going to Three Muses (the first on my 2019 trip to NOLA). Fantastic vibes, Live music and great food! I had the shrimp tempura and the mini pork bao the en pointe cocktail. I look forward to visiting again.
We had a great experience at this place. Drinks are really good, not like other touristy places. The food is also really good. The music is, of course, top of the notch! Staff did their best to accommodate us. Overall this would deserve a 10 stars. I would advise making a reservation.
The Three Muses is cozy music-oriented cafe on Frenchman St just outside of the French Quarter in New Orleans. We met since friends there for an early dinner and some bluesy singer-songwriter music. We started with a couple of craft beers (both on tap and bottled) and wine from a modest selection that were reasonably priced. We then ordered a few appetizers, including the french fries, Brussels sprouts, and fried shrimp. The only outstanding one of the three was the Brusselssprouts, which were nicely fried and crispy on the outside with a tasty balsamic-based glaze. The fries were, well, fries. Nothing special about them. The shrimp, on the other hand, was simply disappointing. We were served a small cup oftiny, deep fried, greasy, clearly frozen, tasteless shrimp that was frankly embarrassing for a city as richly steeped in food culture as New Orleans and most definitely not worth the 13 we paid for it. That was pretty much the breakingpoint. We decided that there were better options out there for dinner and left after we had finished the appetizers and the band had stopped for a break. The music, on the other hand was great! Not too loud and a great ambiance for hangingout with friends. It's a shame the food was not any better. Also worth mentioning is that they add a mandatory 3 per person music charge to your bill. Now, I don't have a problem with giving props to the musicians in the form of , but Ithought it somewhat sneaky to throw that charge in under the radar that way. I would have rather just paid the 3 up front as a cover charge upon entering.
