Contribuiți la feedbackAfter hearing a lot of buzz, I finally tried Sally's. Located on Oak Street in Uptown, this cozy restaurant has a unique and eclectic atmosphere. While the food was decent, it didn't quite live up to the hype as the best meal I've ever had in New Orleans. I'm not a fan of their dark gumbo, but it was well-seasoned with plenty of crab. However, it was served lukewarm, which was a bit disappointing. The grilled shrimp were flavorful and well-seasoned, but also not served at the right temperature. Their hush puppies were really tasty, with a savory blend of herbs that I couldn't quite pinpoint. One person in our group had the head-on shrimp boil, tossed in a lemongrass butter sauce, and it looked and tasted great (though messy). The hand-cut and battered onion rings were also delicious. The wine selection is limited but reasonably priced. For dessert, we tried the key lime pie, which was tasty but not cold enough. I would recommend Sally's for appetizers and happy hour, but not necessarily for dinner.
Their crab/seafood boil is on point! I haven’t tried every single item yet but I’m well on my way. You know, it’s so good that I don’t really wanna tell everyone about it because I’m an introvert who doesn’t want a bunch of people around buuuuuut I also want these wonderful employees to get more business because they deserve it!Go tos:Onion ringsOysters fried and rawHappy hour in general!!!That cheese burger, y’all. That’s all you need frfr.
Avoid this place like the Plague! They posted a list of Happy hour specials on the date and time that I went. They refused to honor the specials that they posted! In all realms this is FRAUD!
I had an incredible dining experience for lunch. The food and drinks were fantastic. The service was very friendly and accommodating. They were especially helpful when it came to seating a baby at our table. The menu offers a great variety of unique and interesting twists on seafood classics. The peanut butter pie was one of the best I've ever had. It's disappointing to see them close, but hopefully they can address their issues and reopen with the same level of quality.
My brother and I were on a food vacation in town and were let down by most of the restaurants. Luckily, we discovered Seafood Sally's and it was a fantastic experience. It is definitely the top food spot in New Orleans at the moment. The oysters were incredibly fresh, the pork trotters were delicious, and the boiled and fried shrimp were cooked perfectly. The cocktails were superb and the service was fantastic. I will definitely be returning to Seafood Sally's as my first stop on my next trip and will probably dine there every day.
