Contribuiți la feedbackReally enjoyed my stay here in the standard suite w/ Balcony. The staff was very friendly, courteous and the hotel had a modern industrial chic that was very welcoming in the CBD. Perfect for my first visit to NOLA! Would recommend!
We decided to stay another night in New Orleans and found this location on Air Bnb. It is very nice in the lobby and bar is very nice and has some of the best cocktails. What was strange was the reception told us that they closed at 11:00, but we left us sitting alone at 7:30 because of a comedy show up? When I asked about the show and when we needed cards, the reception seemed like they had no idea. Instead of staying and ordering dinner at the hotel restaurant, we had to go somewhere else for dinner. As far as the room goes, the air conditioning does not work at all and we are currently sweating to death. It is at full speed and cold can be and nothing. The room is as large as a very small bedroom, so the air conditioning they should be able to cool this room without any problems. It is currently 90 degrees in New Orleans and this is not cooling the room at all. The shower has wooden slats on the floor and when you turn the water on, there is a terrible rotting smell. I personally have a wooden shower at home and it must be cleaned weekly or it begins to smell. That tells me that it was probably not cleaned in months. The sink in the room also has a huge tear in it. Why is my room $150 and has all these problems that can be easily fixed. It is nice to look on the outside, but I would never recommend this hotel.
While we experienced many things in Selina New Orleans that would not suggest that the hotel is worth a boutique experience or the cost we paid. Upon arrival we were told that masking and COVID protocols were required. But every single employee did not follow a protocol, no one was ever masked and spaces were never cleaned. We were surprised that we were asked to keep these protocols and even said that the rooms are not cleaned to protect the staff if the staff did nothing to protect themselves. Since our room was really dirty, the bathroom had dirt in the corners, the shower was in dirt and black mold on the wooden floor (which was broken). The carpet was covered with dirt, not sucked off and was crusty. The overall experience of our room was extremely disappointing. We wanted to stay at the boutique hotel for a romantic experience and the rooms were small, badly decorated, had no look as advertised, had broken accessories and were really filthy. The walls were scattered, shedd and had dents in them, the curtain rods were cheap and bent, the lighting in the room was very white and bright as a hospital and the bed had 't even an appropriate sheet. They were two top sheets that were too small for the bed and couldn't even get in, halfway through the night we 'd sleep on the naked mattress foam. In addition, we were expected to pay $30-$40 per day for full cleaning or $10 just to pay fresh towels and garbage collection. This is really unfair and has made the experience very unpleasant. We would work most days before going out and there would be a free coffee and a few yogurts. The creamer/milk, every 4 days we were there, was spent weeks. We looked at it and see that the staff turn the label around regularly to hide it from guests, that is really disgusting. Finally, we paid for our deluxe rooms and expected to stay in a boutique hotel with a cool restaurant and rooftop bar. No, where on the website Selina advertised that the restaurant and roof bar were closed for months. We have the feeling that we were "logged and cheated, as none of them were shown online during the booking. We have literally paid for staying here for conveniences that Selina New Orleans has been coming for months and per staff 't open for months. Also, there was a wedding reception last night we were there and went almost 2 hours over quiet hours, when the walls were very thin and we heard stomped until after midnight. Nothing of it was pleasant. Only plus was the Wifi was strong enough in the café to do some work.
I was here for St. Patrick's Day weekend when I entered the room, I made an ordinary check just to make sure everything is clean that Covid is pretty relevant in New Orleans yet. And what I saw absolutely disgusting, it was obvious that the room has never been cleaned before my arrival there was a lot of hair in the entrance of the shower that the household just left for me to find the leaves together with the pillowcases when I took a closer look and pulled back the leaves that I found fresh blood and urine stains on the whole mattress I found pictures of both problems. All in all, I would recommend finding anywhere to stay and if you choose the very risky choice of this hotel please make sure you bring your own sheets of disinfection and check your mattress for blood and stains also make sure to check the shower for hair gnats and mold. Please protect your health and wallet at all costs and just go somewhere else
Was misled, cheated off money, and dismissed here at the Selina Catahoula hotel. We finished our stay two days ago. I had reserved an upgraded room called 'The Suite ' because there was a sale on the selina.com website. I received an email confirmation for the room as well. When we arrive, I noticed the room doesn 't look like what I booked and I bring up my concern with the only staff available. He tells me that he has me written for a downgraded room instead. I bring up my confirmation email, which he completely disregarded. Like completely ignored, he barely even look at it. Instead, he tells me that the price I paid is definitely not the room I reserved--it would be more expensive , that I 100% belong in this other smaller downgraded room, and that the error was due to third party booking . I tried to reason with him to no avail. I tell him I booked directly on Selina 's website during a sale, but he was adamant. My proof of confirmation email and receipt for 'The Suite ' was useless here. There was no reasoning to be done with this staff. It was made abundantly clear that he would not do anything about the mismatch between my reservation and the room he gave me. It was late, I was tired, and mostly I just wanted to enjoy my only vacation for the year, so I forget about it. We ended up staying in the much smaller downgraded room for a week despite already paying for the larger nicer better room. Now that I 'm back home and rechecked the website, I can now say with confidence that I ended up staying in Selina 's most basic room despite paying for one of the more expensive larger rooms. One star for stealing my money, false advertising, and giving no attempt to own up to their mistake. I almost never give bad reviews, but this one just literally scammed me. Additional notes for future guests: 1) There will be a foreign transaction fee if you book on selina 's website. Use a travel credit card when booking. 2) For every four times you call the hotel, you will reach a real person once. Keep trying, someone does exist on the other line. 3) They are pet friendly. Lots of pets to bump into during your stay. 4) There are also bugs crawling in the room. Super entertaining for my cats, but you might be less than amused with them. 5) No fridge or microwave in the room. 6) Room service is $30 per night if you want/need it. Bathrooms will inherently feel dirty just because of the wooden slats on the floor. 7) Whatever outdoor balcony was advertised for the room, it 's just a space barely big enough to fit two chairs and a table. It 's also enclosed by a twelve foot tall brick wall on three sides so don 't expect a view of any kind. 8) Walls are thin. We were lucky to have considerate neighbors, but I could hear their phone ring pretty loudly when their alarm went off. Also barking dogs. And if you happen to be located below the rooftop bar during a busy time, that will be really loud. 9) There is no parking associated with the hotel. Street parking is $6 per 2 hours during the daytime, but free at night and holidays. The garage they 'll send you to will be $20-25 per day. 10) You don 't need a car to get to all the fun stuff in the city from this hotel. Good location. 11) Sure, this hotel is a bit more aesthetically chic and hipster than standard. Visually pleasant. 12) LASTLY, DOUBLE CHECK THAT THE ROOM YOU RESERVED IS THE ROOM YOU RECEIVE. Please please please advocate for yourself much harder than I did. I would hate if others were unknowingly staying in downgraded rooms after paying extra. Learn from my experience.
