Contribuiți la feedbackI visited the restaurant on Tuesday evening and found the staff to be very friendly. In fact, most of the people I've encountered since my visit five days ago have been friendly as well! The oysters were absolutely incredible—so fresh and delicious. People had mentioned that New Orleans oysters have an earthy taste, but that's not the case here at all. I'm quite picky when it comes to oysters, and I was really impressed with what I had. So why only four stars? Because they were a bit on the expensive side! Haha. I will definitely return if I find myself in this town again.
As a follow-up to my original visit, I went back on Friday specifically for the oysters. I had a great experience on Wednesday, where I loved my burger, so I decided to order it again. We got one River Bottom burger and one classic burger. While the burger we had on Wednesday was large enough to cover the bun completely, the ones we received on Friday barely covered a quarter of the bun. We ordered them rare, but they arrived well done. After waiting an hour and a half, the oysters finally arrived and were delicious. However, the person who plated them clearly needs to work on their counting—there were only 10 oysters instead of the dozen we were supposed to get. Last I checked, a dozen means 12! What a difference two days can make!
Great food and atmosphere. Perfect if you want a bite away from the more tourist trap restaurants but still need something in the French Quarter. The Chicken Fried Alligator, Crawfish Mac n' Cheese, and the Oysters are a good recommendation here. Only quip is you may have to wait a bit longer for service
I visited this restaurant based on a tour guide's recommendation when we inquired about oysters. Unfortunately, they were out of oysters on the day we went, but we decided to sample a few other dishes from the menu. We tried the gumbo, ostrich chili, and crawfish mac and cheese. Everything was delicious! The potato salad was a refreshing alternative to the usual rice served with gumbo. The chili had a nice smoky flavor and a mild spice to it. I would definitely recommend the mac and cheese; it was my favorite by far! I appreciated the smaller portion sizes, which allowed us to try more individual dishes, although I did find the prices to be a bit high in comparison.
We went twice in nola for 5 days for our birthday vacation. the oysters are the best I ever had. we enjoyed the atmosphere and the drinks are so well made. while we sit in and found right away, be ready for overcrowded because they are so good!
