El Pavo Real - New Orleans

I?ve never had a bad meal here. Probably the best and most authentic Mexican food in the city. The servers are all so nice. Definitely would recommend the crab and avocado quesadilla, fish tacos, and breakfast burrito. Their happy hour is also solid. I only wish they were open later and also open on Sunday and Monday.

My wife and I went here tonight after hearing how good it was. The queso was so good and a generous portion. The al pastor and steak tacos were on point, with the steak actually cooked medium rare. The plantains with mole sauce might be the best in the city. Plus the service was great. Check this place out!

10/10. Best Mexican food in the city. Unlike a lot of boutique mexican restaurants in this city, they make their tortillas in-house. Homey dining room that felt like my grandmas house. This is as authentic as it can get here. Will be returning. Food is priced great for the quality and the taste.

We were passing by on our way home from vacationing in Florida and we chose a random place since we didn't know the city. Let me say I was born in Mexico and have lived in Texas most of my life where there are Mexican restaurants everywhere and I have never tasted something this good. We tried the chicken and cheese enchiladas, the chicken tamales with mole, the chile relleno, and the carnitas and I can confidently say it was the best Mexican food I have ever tasted. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and with a seasoning you mostly only get from Mexican grandmas that have been cooking these type of meals all their life.

We love this restaurant! I get the same every time. Her black bean soup is so hearty and tasteful. I also get the shrimp tacos and they are absolutely perfect. I just ate and wish I had more haha. I also had the Enchaladas in the past, which are just as good. Every time I eat here, I have to come here more often. I always had a great experience with the staff.
