Dat Dog - New Orleans

When 's a good time to have a hotdog for dinner? When it 's Monday and the work week has already been so stressful you can 't even think about cooking. I landed at Dat Dog on a Monday evening in September because I wanted to eat outside and they have a really large yard for outdoor diners. As the weather has become less insufferable, I 've been looking for patio dining. Plus, the inside dining area of this place is a downer so that made the decision easier. I chose the first thing on the menu, Jimmy 's Chicago 'Dog. I 've only ever had a Chicago hotdog at O 'hare and Sonic, so this one exceeded my expectations. Frankly, I loved it. My food partner got the Bacon Werewolf and she said it was very, very good because bacon.

We've been wanting to visit this restaurant for a long time and had only heard great things about it. It took us a while, but finally, my wife ordered takeout, and we enjoyed it so much that we returned the next night to dine in. I can't believe I waited so long to try it!

Dat Dog offers a vibrant and entertaining atmosphere, featuring an extensive menu of unique hot dogs. I sampled both the alligator hot dog and a classic version; while both were tasty, they fell short of being exceptional. Although the flavors were intriguing, they didn’t have that extra touch to make them truly unforgettable. On the bright side, the service was quick, with our order arriving in around five minutes. Overall, Dat Dog is a reliable choice for a quick and enjoyable meal, but the hot dogs could benefit from a little more flair to really shine.

This was my first and last visit to this restaurant. The place was somewhat dirty, with sticky tables. I ordered a beef hot dog, but it was rubbery and not enjoyable. The sodas were flat and lacked carbonation. I mentioned the issue to a server, but it seems he forgot about it. Overall, I would not recommend this place.

The atmosphere was very cute and welcoming. The customer service was great and the food was yummy!
