The enticing aromas wafting from this restaurant called out to me as I was on the lookout for a meal. I couldn't resist, and I’m glad I didn’t. I decided to try the spicy jerk chicken, and the woman cooking the food warned me that it was a different kind of spicy than what I might expect in American cuisine. I took her advice and went for it. Sure, my nose was running, but the bold flavors of the chicken made it all worthwhile. It was served alongside delicious plantains, a fresh green salad, yellow rice, and cabbage, all of which were delightful. The staff, including the woman taking my order and the one preparing my meal, were vibrant and provided exceptional customer service.

The Caribbean food here is delicious and comes in generous portions. However, I found the menu to be quite different from what’s listed on Google. The offerings primarily include jerk chicken, shrimp, and fish, along with options like snapper and a daily special. We tried the jerk shrimp wrap and the jerk chicken wrap, both with mild spice. It's worth noting that there are only mild and hot spice levels available, so don’t ask for medium. The mild option still packs a bit of heat, so if you’re sensitive to spice, this might not be the best spot for you. The flavors were incredibly vibrant! We also enjoyed a drink that was a mix of hibiscus and cane juice, which they called the "Aretha Franklin." It was unique and very tasty. The seating is minimal, with just two tables outside the shop. You place your order at the entrance and then enjoy your meal outdoors.

On my recent trip to NOLA we accidentally stumbled on to this restaurant dragging our many bags of luggage around killing time before our AirBnB was ready several blocks away. We ordered the Jerk Shrimp Wrap. Talk about absolutely amazing!!! This will be my first stop when I go back to NOLA for lunch! Loved the heat and spice! These gals got it going on for sure! ????

Bar none, as far as im concerned, this is top 3 place to eat in New Orleans it ain't number 3). I would need a book to properly express how home feeling, delicious, affordable, and soul affirming the food service is at Coco Hut so just save time, go, and thank me later!
