Cho Thai - New Orleans

The food was exceptional! The decor of the restaurant is gorgeous. However, the service was a bit slow. The only downside is the noise level; it’s quite difficult to have a conversation without raising your voice across the table. There are too many hard surfaces and not enough sound absorption. Other restaurants are installing acoustic control panels that blend well with the decor. I will definitely return and bring friends!

When we arrived, the front door was propped open, and we were all sweating. One member of our group eventually closed it. Additionally, the noise level was overwhelming; we could barely hear one another and would be hesitant to return on a busy night due to the high volume. The sound echoed off the concrete floors, making it almost unbearable. Another disappointment was the inability to adjust the spice levels on some dishes. On a brighter note, the entrees were surprisingly large, and after enjoying the appetizers, we wished there were smaller portion options available. Overall, the food was delicious, and I hope that the staffing and noise issues get resolved in the future.

Our server, who also seemed to be the bartender, was fantastic. He was patient and friendly, which made for a great experience. It was likely a slow night since it was a Monday, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that they were open when many restaurants are usually closed. We started with shrimp dumplings, roti, and calamari as appetizers. I ordered the green curry seafood, while my mom had the crab fried rice and my dad chose the Kung Pao Chicken. Everything was delicious!

Our 1st experience (take out at the beginning of COVID) wasn't great but so glad we tried again. Really terrific food. Highly recommend the shrimp dumplings and green curry. Mussels very tasty, too. Delicious drinks. Definitely going to be back again!

We went on a double date here. The food was incredible, very tasty and creative. It was much louder than we would've liked. Our waitress was good. The bathrooms were nice. I give it a 4/5 overall.
