She has a great personality and is a beautiful person inside and outside!! She ensured that we were supervised from the beginning to the end. She recommended this Enchilada court, and OMG, it was TO THE FOR! We had a tiny problem with our too much lime margaritas, but Mari started saving and got us a replacement right away. The second were really good! Somehow, DANK YOUR MARI and staff!! They made our anniversary night a great start! We can't wait to come back soon!
Casa Borrega stands for the best Mexican food in New Orleans. At least Casa Borrega is our personal favorite from our local point of view! It's hard to go wrong with something in the menu. The food is not the typical Super-Cauty Tex-Mex. It seems to be authentic Mexican food (but they still have great queen! . The mole is phenomenal! Elotes are not missing another! I'm not a huge Mezcal fan. The smoke inspection is not my thing, but they have big mezcal and non-mezcal drinks. The Margarita of the day was massive! The total costs are somewhat more expensive than some other Mexican restaurants, but we felt it is worth it. The inside and outside of the restaurant are very well designed with many cool things. The ambience in the back with the lights is excellent!
Absolutely love this place! This is a genuine authentic Mexican restaurant and Mexican, not to mention the largest and best selection of Tequila in New Orleans! My mouth still irrigates every time I think about the Casa Dragones, it was delicious! Each one of the Tacos tries and they were all amazing! If this place was on my way, I'd visit weekly. The owner and the staff here are super friendly and very generous. If you are in Nola, this place is a must!
I love this place. This part of the city is an aspiring and upcoming Arty neighborhood. We had the pleasure of going right before lunch on a weekday. The owner was behind the bar and took care of us. Wow, he's the artist! His artworks and design elements in the room are absolutely beautiful and welcoming. A treasure for New Orleans. They make different specials every day and we came on a different day than the special I wanted, but they made me what I wanted anyway, even though it wasn't the day. What a great service and great hosts. I loved my meal, I loved the atmosphere, and I love the hosts and all about this restaurant, would highly recommend as the best food for the south of the border in New Orleans!
Wow. First time here. Had some people say it 's great food but bad service. I disagree. It 's great food, great drinks, friendly staff, and a RELAXED atmosphere. Does the staff rush around, take your order, rush back with food, etc?? No. They DO take their time with each table, explain specials, ask about your evening, etc. No one is dogging it here. We had a great time, stayed and talked a long time, talked to 2 or 3 of the waitstaff, the bartender, one of the band members. This is a Mexican family atmosphere. No rush, let 's talk. Small store front, the a classic pick up truck in front with a neon OPEN sign in it. Come in to a bar area and indoor seating, band in the corner. Friendly bartender got chips and guacamole with an AMAZING salsa made with poblano, and guajillo, and Serrano peppers, burst with flavor and heat on the back end. Muy sabor! We waited to be seated in the open back area. About 15 minutes, which went by fast with a great band to listen to. Had a cute young lady server (Allison), who gave us the rundown on the specials, and made us fell welcome (as did the bartender in front). We tried a flight of mescal, which is 4 shots of mescal from various regions. Durango, Guerrero, one mixed with Tamarindo, and one I can 't remember (lol). Very different flavors, and fun to try. They also have a huge selection of tequilas. THE FOOD: I had the Borrega de Oro (lamb marinated in tequila cooked in banana leaves with grilled nopalitos and cebolitas. Tender meat, very tasty... with nopalitos on a corn tortilla was delicious. This is great stuff. Classic and well prepared. My friend who would be my gf, had chille rellenos. Traditionally made and very flavorful. Both entrees were reasonably priced and well worth it. Overall I can 't say enough about the experience. If you look at my other reviews, you will see if don 't give 5 stars often. The food, music, atmosphere, drinks, staff and feeling of welcomeness push this over the edge. And I didn 't even talk about the walls covered with kitschy items to look at. The washrooms are clean and omnisex (for use by anyone). Good to see.
