Cafe Du Monde – City Park

This charming old café is definitely worth a stop if you’re in New Orleans. It’s situated in the City Park area, with plenty of nearby parking—though I visited during the week, so it wasn't too crowded. The renowned beignet and chicory coffee pairing is absolutely delicious, and you can choose to sit indoors in the comfortably air-conditioned space or outdoors, which I preferred, as it was quite enjoyable. The prices are quite reasonable as well; I spent about $25 on three coffees and three beignets.

This place is famous for its beignets, and with multiple locations, it’s always crowded. However, popularity doesn't guarantee quality. We ordered the classic three beignets, enjoyed two, and ended up tossing the third. They were overly doughy, lacking the light and airy texture that beignets should have, and they weren’t fresh at all. Honestly, skip this place—try Café Beignet in the French Quarter or, even better, visit Loretta's in the French Market. We happily waited an hour for our beignets in the humidity, and we'd gladly do it again.

Cafe Du Monde is undeniably fantastic, and the beignets are incredibly delicious. You can enjoy all the highlights of Cafe Du Monde without the crowds or long waits, especially if you go on a weekday around lunchtime. However, this location seemed to lack the charm I was hoping for when compared to the original in the French Quarter.

On a tour of NOLA and stopped at Cafe Du Monde. Decided to come inside and order because it is humid!! There is an outside ordering window and an inside sit down ordering line. The beignets come three in a pack and very well powered. I told the young lady I'm in vacation, so to please give me the no calories option!! Also, got a small frozen coffee. Highly recommend.

Very fast service. Though I paid for food and drinks, and I had not left the establishment, the young man at the counter refused to allow me get a cup of ice for the road. Mind you it's over 90 degrees and humid out and I just spent enough money at your establishment, yet you want to charge me for a cup of ice? I could see if I just walked up to the counter and asked for a cup of ice without buying anything, but that was not the case. Management failure in my book.
