Blue Loon Bakery - New London

I can't say enough, Blue Loon Bakery and the staff. I loved everything I tried and I love the coffee is strong and the menu is always changed! So grateful to have another place in town to enjoy outdoor seating!

I’m so happy this place is great because New London needs some options! The space is beautiful and comfortable and everything I have gotten there has been excellent.

I have had the fortune of working with Laurie Shive and her staff with some production. All I have to say is that her dedication to the perfecting her art is apparent. She has invested in the right equipment and is currently buying more to deal with the amazing demand. We all know our area is desperate for artisan foods and variety. You can say at this time we are at an all time low for options in the New London area. Laurie is reworking her plan to deal with the high demand that came her way on the first July weekend as a microburst of people flooded her newly painted door. As with any new business that deals with supply (especially daily made real food and demand, give it time to blossom. Keep coming by to try. Positive feedback on flavor combinations, textures, doneness are all very important. It 's best to do that privately with Laurie so she can go back and do the endless tweaking an artist does anyway and not on social media. I myself, am a chef. My wife and I started a restaurant 20 years ago and had the same growing pains but without the harshness of social media reviews. Be kind and continue trying new items. If something is out of stock try something else. They know when something runs out so be sure they are collecting the data to fix production for the same day the next year. Every day, every midweek, every weekend and every season are different with demand. Blue Loon will figure it out.

Absolutely delighted with Blue Loon! a wonderful addition to New London and much needed! I had a cold brew that was outstanding and an apple and Brie baguette that was delicious. I’m excited to try all the other goodies they offer and am thrilled at the dedication to local purveyors! Bravo!
