Contribuiți la feedbackWe tried the steak tartare, gnocchi, and garlic white wine mussels. The steak tartare was soft but slightly chewy, with a mix of capers and horseradish that gave it a unique flavor reminiscent of pickle juice. The chips were fresh and delicious. The gnocchi was very soft and had a delightful texture that made it very satisfying. The creamy pesto sauce was amazing, and I would definitely come back for the gnocchi. However, I wasn't a fan of the mussels as they had a strange aftertaste - possibly due to the white wine garlic broth. The service was excellent, with all the staff being friendly and kind. The restaurant had a dark interior with black walls, but we went during the daytime and had some natural sunlight. The small size of the restaurant makes it less ideal for large gatherings.
I first visited this restaurant last summer and tried their Portobello Fries and a delicious experimental rum banana cocktail. When I was invited back by a blogger friend, I was once again impressed. The cocktails are consistently amazing. I began with a rum cocktail and finished with a whiskey cocktail. We also ordered a cheese plate, chicken pot pie, and of course, the Portobello fries. In addition, we were treated to two experimental entrees: a chicken dish and a monkfish dish. Both were very tasty. I always have a wonderful time at this restaurant and look forward to visiting again.
Nestled not too far from the Hamden/New Haven line is this absolutely adorable and quaint restaurant Oak Haven and Table. I have been here a few times for both happy hour and their bottomless brunch. I recommend both. On this particular visit I came in for their $1 oyster special on Tuesdays. I sit at the bar and the bartender Tyler was super sweet. Actually all of the staff I've ever met there are amazingly sweet. For food I ordered shrimp Cocktail and 6 oysters. The oysters change weekly depending on what's fresh. Though the oysters that day were a little large for my liking they were delicious and very fresh. The shrimp were juicy and served wonderfully cold. I also had the panzanella salad with burrata. I have not once had a salad I didn't want to absolutely devour here. This salad was no different it was delectable. I also decided to try bone marrow for the first time. The bone marrow is served in a brown butter and was incredibly flavorful. The bread served with the bone marrow helps to give it a lovely crunch and to sop up some of the butter with the bone marrow itself. I also decided to do the whiskey shot add on with the bone marrow which I highly highly suggest. The flavors pair well together and honestly it's just a fun way to take a shot! If you find yourself in New Haven this restaurant is a must to visit.
Was my first time here during New Year's Eve. We had a great time! It was a fixed menu option, I ordered the Caesar salad to start, then for the first time ever I tried Chilean sea bass. I've never had bass before and it was excellent. It wasn't fishy the chimichurri sauce was a nice touch. I loved it and will definitely start eating more bass now. Then the dessert was a cheesecake parfait, delicious! The owner is a great guy. You can tell he truly cares about his costumers and makes sure everything is running smoothly! I had such a fun night during New Year's Eve, the DJ that night was also great. I will definitely be back to try some more items on their menu!
I had an amazing dining experience at the Oak Table in New Haven. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the service was excellent. The menu had a fantastic variety of dishes, and the food was elegantly plated and incredibly tasty. I would highly recommend the Oak Table to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in New Haven!
