Brother Jimmy’s New Haven

We had made a reservation for a table at the restaurant. When we arrived on time, a sign instructed us to seat ourselves, but every table was occupied. After waiting for a few minutes without any assistance, we were approached by a staff member who seemed clueless about the availability of tables or the wait time. We ultimately decided to leave.

My family and I went to this restaurant for BBQ. It was okay, but a bit loud. The servers were nice and the drinks were good. However, the food was not great. The mac and cheese noodles were hard and undercooked, not suitable for my one-year-old to eat. I ordered the brisket tacos, but they were burnt and not tender or flavorful. (Having had BBQ in Tennessee, I expected more.) The baked beans were good, and my husband enjoyed the shrimp tacos. We discussed giving the restaurant another try, maybe without the kids, in hopes of a better experience next time.

Other than finding someone initially to seat us the experience was very positive. It was our second time eating there and the food is very good. Our friends enjoyed it as well. Great casual fun place for BBQ and drinks in New Haven.

The appetizers were tasty, but unfortunately the main dishes were not as impressive. This was a bit disappointing for me, especially since I have dined at other Brother Jimmy's locations and enjoyed the food. The servers were friendly, but service was slow and the staff seemed a bit understaffed.

We made a reservation. At the right time arrived, and there was a sign that please read you sitting and each table was full. After a few minutes standing there and wondering what was going on, someone finally approached us and had absolutely no idea of a possible waiting time when there are actually tables available... we went out.
