Contribuiți la feedbackLast weekend, my boyfriend and I went to The Ponycat which is a cafe located at New Farm. I’ve been here once for coffee, but not really a meal so we decided to try their breakfast. I found out that the staffs were Taiwanese and they not only sell Western style breakfast, but they also do Taiwanese style dinner on Friday and Saturday night.
New Farm is surrounded with many nice brunch cafes. I'm normally reluctant driving there purely because it can be troublesome finding a place to park. But yesterday I got lucky and found some residential parking available (thank god! <br/ <br/ There was a time where Ponycat breakfast photos flooded my Instagram, and since then I've had this placed pinned on the back of my mind. As I entered the cafe for the first time, the counter area immediately drew my attention to the quirky menu layout on the blackboards and the drawings on the walls around <br/ <br/ Greeted by a staff, I was then told to take a seat as it is all table service. The menus were provided and my eyes were instantly scanning to see what I fancied. The eggs benedict seemed popular and I was feeling some nice poached eggs, so I settled with that and a flat white coffee. <br/ <br/ Coffee Unfortunately, was only served warm and the brew wasn't strong enough for me either. Guess I'll be needing the double shot extra hot combo next time <br/ <br/ Food The breakfast changed things around though. Served on a long sourdough toast that was lightly toasted, were some fresh spinach, perfectly cooked bacon and two beautiful runny poached eggs. The hollandaise sauce was very tasty as well. MUCH ENJOYED!! <br/ <br/ Friendly staff : <br/ <br/ Thank you Ponycat!
Tucked off Brunswick Street in New Farm, PonyCat is a lovely welcoming cafe that serves good food and coffee. With funky murals and cute découpage tables, this is an ideal spot to catch up with friends. Ordered the smoked salmon on rye the toast was just right (not too hard or soft). The only setback would be the pickled cucumber; I personally feel that they were too sour to my liking. Enjoyed my cup of latte, highly recommend the coffee here. Overall, my friend and I had a pleasant brunch here and the staff was very friendly.
Wonderful and filling brunch. Avocado, grilled halloumi, poached egg, tomato, spinach, and two slices of bread with a balsamic drizzle. Very fast service. Small place in a cool neighborhood.Insta: @voraciousventures
Finally found a cafe that is not overpriced but still nailed everything. They have fantastic food and drink. I tried the special, roast pork belly with fried eggs, wilted greens and mojo sauce' and detox smoothie. Everything tasted amazing and seasoned to perfection, and the portion size was really good. For my smoothie, it had a lot of veges, so I felt a bit adventurous ordering it, but it was so refreshing, and everyone at my table loved it. I will definitely be back!
