Many small souvenirs, photos make you feel like in a friend's house. Especially if you are greeted by the owner, Christine, who will guide you carefully through the menu and suggest the best dish for your type of hunger. The food... I didn't expect it to be so delicious! And my expectations were high. Sweet potato fries were the best I ever tried in my life. The beef salad had so many elements that together made for a surprising experience. And prices are absurdly low for this kind of food quality in Big Apple. This place is perfect for a meal in a cozy house environment if you just don't want to feel like cooking home or surprise someone visiting the city. Last tip: Try the pig belly shell. Did not get it yourself, but heard some very good recommendations.
Jia brings home cooking levels prepared with creative dishes to perfection! The pig bell was just brilliant. The salmon was delicious, not overcooked or undercooked. The brussel sprouts with cranberries exquisite. The pulled pork sandwich and sweet potatoes were a delicious combination. The bread pudding was probably one of the best we ever tasted. And the pumpkin pannacotta the perfect finish to a seasonal fall dessert. Portions were perfectly dimensioned. Beautiful selection of beer and wine. More than just a small LES restaurant, the owner treats all guests like family coming home.
My husband and I had the pig bell and the meat lamb. Excellent. Great taste. Christine (owner) is very nice and friendly. Not many tables, but very comfortable. We cannot wait to come back and try the other items on the menu! Real comfort food!
Her garlic butterfries are amazing, I can't recommend them enough. I'm just on vacation from San Francisco and this is the first restaurant I tried after the landing. This restaurant was recommended by a friend and I was not disappointed. came for lunch and liked it so much that I had delivered it for dinner. I would also recommend Thai beef salad.
We stumbled in there randomly with younger kids. The place is cozy and inviting. The owner is genuinely nice (made the kids fresh lemonade when she ran out of Sprite). The food was as she describes in menu: delicious comfort food with different cultures and tastes blended. Think Italian and SE Asia. Great spot.
