We’ve basically done nothing fun all summer—nothing fun at all. We had a lot of bad, expensive things happen (loss of job, car accident, surgery, etc) and we had no vacation budget. My husband is a deputy sheriff and I’m a teacher. We work hard and don’t earn much money. I remembered that I had a free hotel room at the casino and my kids love to swim. So I reserved a room online. check-in is at 4 PM. We checked into the hotel at 5:30 PM so they could spend the evening swimming. We check in and we go to the pool. The guy working in the pool area says they have five minutes to swim because starting at 6 PM, the pool is for adults only. I couldn’t find any information about the pool online so we had no idea. So they swam for five minutes. Then they got dressed and now we’re driving back home. So disappointing! I went up to the front desk to tell the lady how disappointing it was and she could care less. The kids were SO excited to swim and sleep at the hotel. But we’re not going stay at the hotel with absolutely nothing to do but sit in the tiny room all night. I expected they would be swimming until bedtime (while my husband and I took turns gambling). Instead, we’re driving home and the kids are both crying ? I don’t care that they have an adult only pool in the evenings. But, that should be posted on their website because I never would’ve reserved the room if I knew that. I understand the casino is not typically a place for kids. But, the casino at New Buffalo used to have an amazing arcade and kid care area so that kids could have fun while adults gambled. They removed that after Covid. And now the pool is not available to kids in the evening. They may as will make the place 21 and up. Our family has no reason to return to the casino

My wife and I went here for a concert at their venue, Silver Creek Event Center, and stayed the night. There was a self check-in option which I think would've been quicker; however, as we've never stayed there before, we elected to use a person to check in. There was a short wait, but not too bad.The room was clean and very spacious with a great view. It had a mini fridge, a microwave, and a Kurieg with some k-cups. You likely won't find any bargains though, I think we paid around $330 for one night, and there was no room service when we stayed if that matters to you. They did have an outdoor pool area and a fitness center.Neither of us are big gamblers so I can't speak much to that experience, except to say that they did have a lot of machines and table games to choose from. I do love that it's a smoke free casino (there are designated smoking rooms if you are a smoker). There are also places to hang out if you want to do something other than gamble. There is a sports betting area to sit and watch sports (with a bar if you want to order a drink), a restaurant on the casino floor, Timbers, if you want to stop and eat, and other bars also located on the casino floor. They also have a Steakhouse, Kankakee River Grill, a buffet, a coffee shop, and other gift shops. We elected to eat at Timbers and the service for food was SLOW. If you're going to an event and want to eat beforehand, better get there plenty early, like at least an hour maybe more.We enjoyed the concert, the show was very good. I would recommend sitting in the back if you're going to a concert as they have stadium seating in the back and it's comfortable. It looked like just banquet chairs up front.Overall it was an enjoyable experience, all of the staff members were friendly and helpful. The only downsides I would say are that it's not cheap and the food service is slow.

One of the nicest casinos around. It was very clean. Only thing it's extremely cold in there. But it was a great time. Ate at Timbers, and it was okay. The menu is extensive and expensive. The manager at Timbers wasn't friendly and quite rude. But she didn't ruin our fun.
