Tony's Central Pizza - New Britain

If you're in the New Britain area, this is the place to visit. The staff is friendly and attentive, always wearing a smile. The food is delicious, fresh, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this wonderful little family-owned restaurant.

Grinders, gyros, and avgolemono (lemon chicken orzo soup) are consistently excellent! The dinners also come with generous portions of pasta. Their lasagna is definitely a must-try. The pizza is usually delicious, although it can be overcooked at times. The staff and owners are incredibly friendly!

I really enjoy their pizza. The boneless chicken wings are a bit spongy for my taste. The fried clams are just okay. I haven't tried their grinders yet. I definitely recommend the pizza—it's got great cheese and a nice crispy crust that tastes delicious!

The food was excellent, but my dining experience was quite disappointing. During my visit, I couldn’t help but overhear the waitstaff complaining about the issue of customers dining and dashing. Additionally, some employees stood idly by, watching me while discussing this problem. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere, almost as if they expected me to steal. While I understand that theft can be a concern, it shouldn’t be discussed in areas where customers can overhear. I don't mind when staff talk about it quietly at the register, but the loud conversations happening in the dining area crossed a line. It made me feel uneasy and less likely to return.

I've ordered delivery from this pizzeria many times, and it’s likely my favorite in the area. It stands out in a competitive market, especially considering its proximity to a university with so many pizzerias nearby. The pepperoni pizza I get here is consistently delicious, with great flavor and quality. The spices from the paprika really shine, while the sauce has a subtle sweetness that beautifully balances it out, which I’ve always loved. Additionally, the customer service has been straightforward and efficient without making you wait too long.
