Old River City Cafe - New Braunfels

Wow! What an amazing experience! When we arrived at the café, it was quiet, and we were promptly seated by the friendly staff. We chose to sit outside, and it felt just like being in a Grandmother's backyard—in the best way possible. There were plenty of outdoor games, like chess, cornhole, and a giant beer pong setup. The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. Our server was funny and had fantastic recommendations. I can’t wait to return!

My wife and I dined at Old River City Cafe during our vacation and enjoyed it so much that we went back for a second visit. On my first trip, I tried the smoked turkey with sweet potatoes and a salad, which was delicious. On my second visit, I had the chicken platter and fried okra, and I was equally impressed. We sat at the back of the water garden under the pavilion, enjoying the cool breeze from the fans – a lovely spot to relax on those hot summer days. It’s a very popular place among the locals, and I believe it used to be a salon at some point in its history.

I recently visited this restaurant for the first time, and I have to say, our waitress was one of the best I've ever encountered. She was incredibly friendly, helpful, and sweet—her name was Claire, if I remember correctly. I will definitely be requesting her service again on my next visit. They also offer an all-you-can-eat option on Saturdays, which is great. I can't wait to try their chicken steak!

Awesome experience and phenomenal food. Highly recommend stoping by to get a bite to eat. Food cameout fast and was absolutely delicious.
