Gristmill River Restaurant Bar

The restaurant offers beautiful river views, especially during the off-season when it's less crowded. The weather was perfect during my visit, with a riverfront table and a slight breeze in the high 70s. I decided to try the Mateo chicken on the waiter's recommendation, and I loved the spicy bean sauce underneath and the tomatillo gravy on top. However, the side options didn't seem to complement the dish well. My kids enjoyed the quesadillas with circle-cut fries, although some of the fries were either undercooked or overdone. The margaritas were good and reasonably priced. The ambiance of the restaurant is truly unbeatable.

I always enjoy my meals at this restaurant. The food is delicious and the view is breathtaking. The ribs were a fantastic choice and the onion rings were also very tasty.

The food and setting at this restaurant are fantastic. A must-visit when in Gruene. The drinks and food are excellent, with generous servings.

Food, service, and ambiance were all amazing. Best onion rings I've ever had! Strolled through the shops while we waited, so time flew by. Only thing I wouldn't recommend getting are the sliced potatoes.

Food and atmosphere were great. Very friendly staff to help. There were two of us and it was a 45 min wait. There is a beer garden to enjoy while you are called.
