Was in the area for the day, never been and chose this place to eat based on the variety of food choices they had available. I got the all day breakfast burger and ordered it medium and it was well done and very very dry. I was also disappointed that the hash brown on it was just one of those frozen square ones you buy in a pack at the grocery store. Fries were pretty soggy and bland. Kind of disappointed. After driving through downtown and seeing all the other coolplaces we could have chosen I really wish we went somewhere else
I've been there a few times and really enjoyed the food. However, I decided to try delivery this time, and it arrived in just 15 minutes. Now I understand why! I ordered a chicken basket and potato skins, but the fries with the chicken were burnt and cold. There were only two tiny pieces of chicken! The potato skins were actually just potato wedges topped with cheese and bits of bacon—completely lacking in flavor. It felt like I was served food that had been sitting around for hours, waiting for someone to buy it. I won’t be ordering from here again!
Fantastic local dive bar! The staff is excellent, and the food is really fresh and delicious! They open at 8 AM, which is a big plus! It's definitely one of my favorite places in the New Bedford area. Shoutout to the great bartender, Liz!
We visited the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon when it was not too busy. We kicked off our meal with a serving of golden brown onion rings, which had a light, crispy batter and were fried to perfection. My wife opted for the Baked Scrod, prepared with butter and breadcrumbs, and paired it with double mashed potatoes (she can be particular about her vegetables). She said it was very good. Our friend chose the Baked Stuffed Shrimp, which featured four medium-sized shrimp filled with a typical breadcrumb and butter stuffing, served alongside fries and coleslaw. While she enjoyed it, I found the stuffing to be rather dry and bland. I went for the Fried Oysters, which were cooked just right. There were eight oysters in total, and they were so delicious that if you closed your eyes, you’d think they were fried clams instead of oysters. My dish also came with French fries and coleslaw. We opted out of dessert since we had already planned to get ice cream elsewhere (at Moose Cafe—see separate review). The total bill, including tax, was $99, which covered five glasses of wine. The atmosphere of the restaurant is casual, so t-shirts and jeans are perfectly acceptable. The bar is located separately from the dining area, providing a quiet and private dining experience. Our waitress was outstanding—knowledgeable about the menu, bright and cheerful, efficient, and friendly. Overall, it was a delightful afternoon.
