The menu is extensive, taking about 10 minutes to read through all the dishes, and it wouldn’t be surprising if you spent another 10 minutes just deciding what to order. The seafood burrito is enormous and packed with a variety of seafood. While it leans toward the pricier side, it appears that the prices may have been recently adjusted, as some seem to have been marked over with white-out and pencil. Given this, I hesitated to try any of the individual plates. To me, this restaurant feels like a great choice for special occasions or business dinners where you can share bites with others.
Queso and guacamole salsa are worth the visit – unique and delicious. chef works very hard and it shows--Gourmet authentic Mexican dishes- great portions- all well prepared.
It's clear that Israel is a talented chef. Our dishes were full of flavor and made with fresh ingredients. I would suggest that Israel look for a new location, as the current one doesn't match the quality of his extraordinary cuisine. Our server was also very pleasant and attentive.
My shrimp quesadillas were tasty, and the guacamole was excellent. However, my partner wasn't impressed with his fish tacos. The pico de gallo looked good but was quite mild in flavor. When we asked our friendly waiter for some extra chiles to spice things up, it took about 20 minutes for them to arrive, which was a bit too late to enhance our meal.
Israel's is unlike any other Mexican restaurant in town. This is upscale food rather than the standard deep-fried chimichanga with a side of bland beans fare you get many places. Every plate brought to our table was gorgeous! I had the special of mahi-mahi tacos, and each taco was filled with a delicious and generous helping of perfectly prepared fish. We shared a large queso as an appetizer, and it was the best queso I've ever had. One of my fellow diners told our server to surprise him by picking an entrée for him, and he was thrilled with her choice. The only downside to our dinner was that they haven't gotten their liquor license yet, which would have been nice to know upon making the reservation; however, we were allowed to bring in our own bottle of wine to enjoy with our dinner. We were all so wowed by the food that we didn't mind that we were missing margaritas. I can't wait to go back here again once margaritas and sangria are options. In the meantime, bring a bottle of your favorite wine and enjoy a lovely meal and good service.
