Aurora And Live Scene - Nesna

This restaurant at Havblikk Camping was a really pleasant surprise! The interior matched any fancy restaurant, and the food was excellent and well made (we had the halibut).

This is the (still fairly new? restaurant at Havblikk Camping and I haven 't tried their offerings yet! but it looks pretty neat and the menu, available at the reception, seems promising as well. Earlier there was only a tiny 'pub ' bar at the camping but Aurora (also a conference center, it says is a full blown restaurant for sure. Lunch available daily as well. Next time will not miss the open hours!

This was a wonderful surprise! We decided to stop over on our way north, to have a little look around Nesna. We didn't know what to expect, or if we would find an open restaurant when we arrived. We hadn't needed to worry, because not only did we find a very friendly and welcoming staff, but also a very interesting menu filled with local produce. The food is a mix of traditional cuisine and with some rather international twists. Fish soup was delicious, and the carpaccio of whale was a pleasant surprise. Pan fried salmon on a seafood risotto went very well with my partner, and she can be quite sophisticated when it comes to food. We have visited numerous Michelin restaurants across Europe, and the quality of the food here surprised us for the price level.(Alain Ducasse, Claude Bosi, Heston Blumenthal to mention some). Particularly loved the bearnaise which is made properly from scratch with local eggs, good butter and white wine vinegar and terragon. Very tender steak and lovely potatoes. The desserts were worth a try, with a very nice and tart apple crumble with vanilla ice cream. Worth a visit and i will definitely make my way by this place again in the future. We only had a quick bite here but sat and drank in the shade for a whole hot summer afternoon. Restaurant and terrace are really nice and stylish, nice and comfortable furniture, clean toilets I didn 't expect at the end of the world and at that on the site of a campsite. Clear recommendation!!

Fantastic food in the most unexpected location. Highly recommended.
