Contribuiți la feedbackAbsolutely amazing food! Great taste, the chicken was tender, and the octopus appetizer was tender as well! All so well cooked and amazing flavours! The staff was wonderful, especially our server Martine! She was absolutely wonderful and ensured our time there was amazing! She was kind and helpful and positive. Definitely great service along with great food!
I really should have read the reviews about their steak before ordering the prime rib. It was absolutely the worst steak I've ever had. The moment the plate was brought to me, the presentation was extremely unappetizing. The meat was gray and looked tough. The moment I tried cutting a piece with the knife, it felt tough. And when I bit into it, I was disgusted. I truly suspect that their prime rib is not prime rib. My best guess is it's blade roast. I've had prime rib at many other restaurants before, so I know what prime rib is supposed to look and taste like. I can easily say the prime rib at AYCE buffets are better than this. After telling the server that the steak was inedible, the manager came to speak with me, and he tried to explain that since I ordered the 16-oz steak, it was a thicker cut and therefore the inside was not fully cooked. He suggested that the steak be butterfly cut and cooked a little more. I was hesitant in trying to save the steak, but I gave it a shot anyway. Not surprisingly, the steak was still tough. The manager then agreed to replace the steak with a filet mignon. Awesome, filet mignon is one of the most tender cuts, and it's nearly impossible to screw it up. Well, guess what? It was slightly chewy as well, but fortunately not as tough as the prime rib. At least it was juicy and not dry. I also didn't think it had enough seasonings. I ate it anyway, but I can say with certainty that I will never, ever order steak from Baton Rouge ever again. In fact, this is the second time I've been let down by bad steak. The previous time was at a different Baton Rouge location. Instead, they are known for their fall-off-the-bone ribs, so I will get that next time. I really did appreciate the fact that both the server and manager tried their best to satisfy my appetite, but if their cuts of meat are always this awful, they will never be taken seriously as a steakhouse.
The servers and reception were excellent! The prime rib sandwich was missing the onions and cheese (manager replaced it , my prime rib was grey (manager said they boiled it , the filet mignon ordered well, was dry and tough (The Keg can do a well filet and keep it soft! Manager said he never recommends it be ordered well because they “cook the living **** out of it! , the truffle fries had canola oil instead of truffle oil, the poutine had cubes of mozzarella instead of curds. Some of our food was warm at best. I spoke to the manager in the lobby since so many things went wrong. (My first time doing that . He was polite but has an excuse for everything. When my husband went to pay the bill, since he expected the manager to at least come to our table to apologize, the manager wanted to fight him and began to swear at him! It was my husband’s first time at Baton Rouge and we were telling him it’s upscale from The Keg! The manager pushed my husband (who is 64! with his shoulder and verbal sparring (Fu words and worse ensued all the way out of the restaurant! The manager took $20 off a $300 bill. We were 4 adults and 2 toddlers. The kids’ food was good but at best warm. While my husband was near the kitchen, he heard a worker say “this needs something “ and the kitchen supervisor said “don’t worry about it, send it out anyways ?
Congrats to the manager, whatever his name is, John or Sam, you are on my Never Again list due to your self-proclaimed policy of no food will be reimbursed, terrible service, and most importantly food safety concerns. The good: the bathroom is clean, and tomato juice is ok. The bad: the waiter Mel never came back to ask, to offer more drinks, avoided purposely once she saw we didn 't eat some food, and returned a couple of things. Every seafood dish ravioli, shrimp skewer) was off. Way off. Calamari dish is greasy of course, the sauce is oversalted. Bbq sauce for chicken fingers was sent back because of the bitter taste. The coleslaw was sent back because it 's not really coleslaw but leftover cauliflower pieces that apparently the manager praised himself for. In his opinion the food is fantastic and your opinion as a client who digests these strange creations of the institutional-level quality does not matter. Possibly ER bill could change his taste buds or budget limitations. Perhaps the chef will be inclined to taste her chicken with zero flavors, unappetizing-looking mash? It 's a warning for clients with self-respect and respect for the food quality they are short of. The worst: Poor food quality. No refund for returned items. The waiter in fact asked if we tasted what was returned. Yes, that 's how we knew it was bad. The manager who misrepresented his name didn 't offer a business card but aggressively attacked two women, with no apology of course. He stated his food was great because nobody complained! His demeanor and tone of voice were insulting. He dismissed the concerns about the poor quality of seafood and that coleslaw . We never had a chance to tell him about other dishes as well. I wonder if his no money return once you sniffed your dish is known to the headquarters and the owner. His staff should be trained better and his chef should taste what they sed to the clients. Hope it was worth it for him to loudly talk over and save $20 on the whole bill.
Went here for lunch, had good burgers and steaks, along with salads, fries, chicken strips, and some fish dishes for those that are meat avoiders.
