I found this restaurant on Google Maps and it definitely lived up to its reputation. The atmosphere was great, and the staff were relaxed and friendly. The food was fresh and delicious, with a good variety of options available, including a special offer for a free drink. We were in the mood for some extra treats and had a wonderful time at Jay's.

The open storefront features a bench and four stools that overlook the street, providing a nice breeze and a chance for some people-watching. There's a slight wait since the dumplings are made fresh to order. I tried the steamed dumplings filled with chicken, carrots, sweet corn, and peas. They had a bit of spice that was a little intense for me, but they were still incredibly tasty. The relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff, combined with the mouthwatering dumplings, make this place a delightful choice!

The service is consistently excellent, the atmosphere is delightful, the prices are reasonable, and, most importantly, the dumplings are always fresh, hot, and incredibly delicious. Jay's has become a local favorite. Every local I know who has tried Jay's Dumplings loves it. Whenever someone new moves to Nelson, I make sure to include a visit to Jay's as part of their introduction to the area's highlights.
