Sgwd Gwladys - Neath Port Talbot

Visited here for the first time tonight. Booking was easy, arrived to a warm welcome and was quickly sat at our table. Service was quick and efficient and the food was outstanding!!

The room and bathroom were too small, with limited space for personal items. The shower in the tiny cabin was difficult to use and the water temperature was not consistent. The room heating was uncontrollable and was not turned on upon our arrival on a cold night. Despite attempts to adjust it, the heating remained inadequate. Breakfast was unsatisfactory and caused indigestion. The late start time of 9:00am did not allow for flexibility with early checkout. It seems that poor service is standard at this establishment. The accommodations were not luxurious, overpriced, and we do not plan on returning. It is unfortunate because the village could benefit from more business, but improvements are necessary.

Exceptional food served by wonderful staff in a great location. Highly recommended and add the lava bread and cockles for that Welsh twist on your breakfast

This restaurant was a huge disappointment and a scam. We had breakfast there and it was terrible. Our order was completely wrong, which just added to the poor experience. The prices are not cheap, so you would expect better quality, but that was not the case. The sausages and bacon seemed to be from a supermarket, and the hash browns were tiny. Even the tomatoes were small. My son ordered the "Large Mawr Breakfast" but didn't want certain items - instead of offering substitutes, they charged him full price for each item. We have been here before, but it seems like they are now overconfident in their reputation. I have a few choice words for them, and the likelihood of me returning is slim to none.

What an amazing, friendly place to stop! The staff were absolutely fantastic and so accommodating. We broke down about 5 miles away and had waited nearly 7 hours for the roadside assistance to arrive. We had minimal signal but managed to find this nearby place to book a room in case we had to stay overnight. The signal was really bad and they could barely hear me, but I was able to book a room under just "Mr." We arrived with the roadside assistance following us. They went off to find parts and came back to fix the car. In the end, we didn't have to stay overnight, but we enjoyed a lovely meal and a drink while waiting. Everyone was so friendly and helpful – the staff were brilliant. I highly recommend this place to anyone, and we may come back and stay in the future. Thank you so much for all your help. The food was also fantastic.
